And of the other less recognizable bits and pieces I’m really loving this Voit diver.

Love the crown!

Pretty quiet year here

Omega W.W.W 10033 VB dial (M.o.D vocabulary code used before NATO stock numbers)

Hamilton RN issued (73), M.o.D sterile dial

... including a huge stock of coffee shot

Poor little diver, forgotten somewhere in my memory

Love the crown!
Oh yeah the crown is a crazy Parmentier type !

It has a female spline on the outside of the cap, and when you unscrew it you can reverse the cap and it fits onto the spline of the winder. It’s not surprising that so few still have their original caps.

No wonder it was not widely adopted 😁 . Interesting, but it is goofy 🤨
Nice catch!

Started with the longines, bb58 and the skx. Then a smiths everest came and went and then I went nuts in December. The Hodinkee swatch is the only recent acquisition I can't see myself keeping.

There's a vintage speedmaster shaped hole in my heart but that will have to wait until other projects are finished (hopefully a tr3 and a vintage bike in 2020 and the other half wants an extension to the house).

Still, I'm pretty pleased with my collection as it stands and hopefully I can avoid any future impulse buys and save up for the real deal.

I sold too many to list, and mourned every single one of them.... but have to stay on track, the plan is a smaller more focused collection. All sales went on upgrades, and these are the ones I added this year (the Rado, a functional dive watch, was a birthday present, and the EP a bargain I couldn’t pass up)

2020 - hoping for a nice, reasonably priced Snowflake, a 1016 and a 2998-3 ...as well as peace and goodwill on earth. It all looks equally unlikely 😀

I don't know what my stated goal was in the pre-2019 thread, but the general theme I tried to work towards was to consolidate some pieces into larger grails and to opportunistically upgrade existing "keeper" references in my collection as opportunities presented themselves. I met the first goal and had some success with the second.

IN:
AP 5402C

UG Exotic Tri-Compax

Rolex Two-Tone GMT 1675/3

Heuer Carrera 2447NST (Possibly Unique Dial)

Movado M95

Omega Speedmaster 105.012-66CB (Original Owner)

Universal Geneve Compax "Evil Nina" (Upgrade over prior example)

OUT

Heuer Carrera 2447NT
A grip of Speedmasters
UG Evil Nina (swap out)
Heuer Camaro (Exotic)
Gilt GMT Master
Tudor Snowflake 7016/0
Omega Speedmaster 2998-62
Tudor Big Block Chrono
Gallet Multichron 12

There’s plenty of 2019 left and I’m working hard to end on a high. It was a very odd year for me with some completely unplanned and expensive purchases. I bought 4 Heuers all of which require sorting, plus a very interesting part for a project watch. More of that in 2020. The two best buys that are ready to wear are the SM300 and a transitional Monaco 1133B. But both are still in the US whilst I save up to pay import duties 😁

And of the other less recognizable bits and pieces I’m really loving this Voit diver.

Wow, those are all fantastic. Your collection is getting quite impressive.

Most of my 2019 entries, not counting the two chronos I previously posted...

Omegas:

I found the parts needed to complete this one:

A few bracelets, among others:

A little gem found by chance:

I discovered that the full size Kontikis are ... well, nice. Duh.

Late & early (correct bracelet in the mail right now):

A Goldengines for some diversity:

... and a Zenith DH I did not take a proper picture of.

Too many of them, I'll probably refocus in 2020. 🙄

I've acquired a donor 552 movement and arranged to have a Seamaster 300 created. My grail.
Still hunting for a Speedy.

Despite my vow to start selling this year, I never got around to it. However I had some inexpensive fun this year with Baltic and Timex LE’s. All are terrific watches.
Timex American Documents:

Q Timex:

Baltic Aquascaphe:

Timex Marlin Automatic Silver Snoopy:

Timex Marlin Automatic: Charlie Brown Kite

thanks for posting the pics of the Timex American Documents watch. I just googled the watch and was pleasantly surprised with this Timex project to support local workers. we are residents of Connecticut and thrilled that Timex is producing this model using all American made components with a Swiss movement. my wife and I plan to buy a pair of these from Timex and hope others will once they learn about them.

For 2019... added a 2254.50! Purchased right here on the forum. Excellent piece. Car was totaled a few days later... so, it wound up being a catch and release to free up some immediate funds - some unfortunate timing.😡 Maybe I'll get to keep this model the next time I acquire it.

Also moved along the Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial. This one... loved many of the features and some not so much. Ultimately some of the things that nagged me about the design won out and it is gone.

Leaves me with four pieces that will never go anywhere. Not sure the picture will change before the end of 2019 - I suppose if the right thing pops up. 😀

Okay, a few of mine

I felt like I had no choice with these two. 🤨

It was, really. ::psy::

I blame OF private sales for this one. 😒

Just my sort of watch. 👍

Maybe I’m crazy, but I thought this was beautiful. 🥰

Clean and cheap can cause me to buy you. 🙄

There were a few pieces I ended up with, just at the limit of what I was willing to bid. I was surprised when I won this, and even more surprised when I received it. It is enshrined as a permanent keeper, if time and troubles allow for such a thing. I seriously love this piece, more than the Sotheby’s photos would have led me to believe. 🤪

And, this too

This was just a chance opportunity and another instance where I was surprised to win it. And again, a permanent keeper, I hope I hope....😁

I swore that this year, I was going to take it easy. There’s more, but this is bad enough already ::facepalm1::

Oh well,

I LOVE Edith Piaf

But, I do have regrets — just not these for sure.

Watches were a rare bright spot for me in an otherwise difficult 2019

Thanks @Syrte

It’s been a strange year for sure. I even got lucky with some parts lots which seems to happen very infrequently these days. I didn’t even know this was in a purchase of mainly crowns until I opened a small bag that was included 😲

While we're sharing the incomings of 2019, the fact that so many of you have sold your watches in 2019 as well makes me feel like a ill-disciplined hoarder 😗. Bought 10, and only sold 3, so net positive 7 😵‍💫

Don’t feel bad ... I can’t let go either. For me no more significant incoming until selling happens. Being retired and the crazy prices help keep the cash where it is though.

Basically started 2019 with zero watch knowledge. Learned a lot this year but still learning as I go. I basically had two watches when I began the year (a basic Casio and Fitbit for the gym). I had a big year personally. My wife and I had baby #2 and I turned 40. My first year into collecting or whatever you'd want to call it looks like a smorgasbord of watches based on the timing of the occasion and of course budget. Basically the pictures are in order of purchase. But I did not include everything I bought. I have a lot not running and need serviced.

The 1st Seamaster is what started it all for me. My first dip into vintage and searching for vintage Omegas is how I began with this forum. My goals in 2020 are 1) learn to take better pictures, 2) focus on the watches I want and buy less fillers (some watches were basically "fillers" because I had an itch to buy a new watch) and 3) focus on birth years. My Speedmaster was a 40th gift to myself, but turned into my daughters birth year watch. I now want to find one from my birth, my sons, and my wife's birth year.

SO here are the pictures and I apologize for the quality. As mentioned, my goal for 2020 is to learn to take better pictures.
