Omega W.W.W 10033 VB dial (M.o.D vocabulary code used before NATO stock numbers)

Hamilton RN issued (73), M.o.D sterile dial

I’m pleased this year the are the omegas I picked up along with some brands not in the pic, It was a fun hunt and I feel I did ok price wise. I have a couple more in service but this is what I have on hand.

Started 2019 with no real knowledge of watches, owned a 2010 Seamaster bought new and a Quartz Longines dress watch presented to me in 2005 for long service with my Company. Ended up with a bit more knowledge, a Speedmaster and DJ41, so am ending the year with a nice little collection and a thirst for more in 2020

I just looked through my ebay purchases and a few other sites, I think I only bought 2 watches this year. One 1912 ish pocket watch (nothing special from a collector stand point but run to play with) and an Omega 2254.50. Sold a nice 1035 to fund the 2254. I thought I'd bought more, but I guess it was mid/late 2018 that I went a little overboard. I guess that means I'm in a good spot to pick up another watch or two in 2020.

This year, I have bought about 40 watches but the ones make me really happy are only two.
One extremely rare no date constellation 14396 and a bumper with great patina .

Fully Original 1974 18k 1601. Sigma Dial, Never been polished/Never had a bracelet. Sticker still on case back. Holy Grail of Rolex 1601. Purchased earlier in the year.

I was on the selling side of collecting. Sold a few very rare originals before the Stock Bubble collapses. The world seems to add more Trillions of Debt without thinking, that it has to be re paid. Money printing to keep the Party going without values behind the money printing . But I keep cash ready for certain Watch Purchases...... Old Habbit..... Have a great 2020 everybody! Kind regards. Well this year, the usual schizophrenic mix of modern and vintage...

Kicked off the year finally getting the uncommon grey version of the Seiko 6217-7000 worldtimer, to pair with my existing silver linen dial version.

Rediscovered a love for dive watches with blue dials and BOR bracelets. Both are terrific watches, and I wondered what took me so long to get a SKX009. Perhaps the fact that I had a SKX007?

Found a wonderful Grand Seiko SBGA413 'Seasons' sakura pink dial that was instant (and enduring) love

Decided to make another watch roll, and quite happy with the result

Furthered my ongoing obssession with JMWTOs...

... and wound up with these two JMWTOs. I never thought I'd get into YG in a big way, but as I reached a significant birthday, I found myself really enjoying these two!

I hope 2019 was good for everyone, and good health!

Only a few acquisitions this year.

This Longines with a plank dial and Cal 22A movement. It was very cheap and keeps great time.

This Hamilton Otis. The case was licensed by S&W from Jaeger-LeCoultre at the grand price of $0.60 per unit in 1938.

Last one was this Hamilton Debra II from 1964. It will go to my administrative assistant in a few days:

Well since you asked

Tenant went rouge on Meth/ice and left $10k damage that insurance didn’t cover and didn’t pay rent for 3 months, took another 4-5 months to fix without tenants

Needed 8 new doors

Holes punched in heaps of walls

One room had over 200 holes in the wall

Painted without permission around furniture

broke in after they were kicked out stole garden shed and white goods

Carpet well

so only one watch this year.

Two out . . .

. . . five in.

Number five is at my watchmaker's undergoing service, so no photos taken yet; acquired here on OF, a ca '42 ref 2214.

Lotsa buckles. Rose gold steel buckle for the ref 2494, plus an incoming 18 kt yellow gold buckle for the SM DeLuxe.

Several steel buckles, too. Upgrading existing watches with proper buckles and straps is a helluva lot easier on the wallet.

Next year: one incoming, currently on order. Not an Omega.

And that's gonna be it. I promise.

There’s plenty of 2019 left and I’m working hard to end on a high. It was a very odd year for me with some completely unplanned and expensive purchases. I bought 4 Heuers all of which require sorting, plus a very interesting part for a project watch. More of that in 2020. The two best buys that are ready to wear are the SM300 and a transitional Monaco 1133B. But both are still in the US whilst I save up to pay import duties 😁

And of the other less recognizable bits and pieces I’m really loving this Voit diver.
