Another exciting year in the vintage watch world is coming to an end. It's always fun for members to share their collective "Year in Review" - also sets the 2018 "Dibs List" I had a ton of turnover this year, and while 2017 didn't yield the "steals" of 2016, it did provide with some "keepers"...straight lug Omegas, a few more Rolex, and some oversized 3 handers. Here is what was added to the stable... Looking forward to seeing everyone else's success...errr...damage
Very well done! I need another week or so, might be trying to squeeze one more in before I completely close out 17’.
The fun in starting this thread is that people will be adding to the year for the next couple of weeks! @alam I learned from watching you!
Not bad considering budget constraints, about 20% turnover and kept the 1:1 in out promise Expanded my Omega collection by just one, thanks to a keen eyed staff member Also added a couple Bucherer chronos, a panda and a reverse Expanded my home town Bulova with a couple vintage and some modern Even added a couple of 1950's Longines Way back in January I got my 1st Lemania Then last week I found its Certina cousin though its still en route . . .
This year was the year of a new start from scratch... Some have already gone, new will come soon... Here is the life...
Next to WRUW Today and WDUB Today ... this annual year in review ritual is pure crystalline enablement! Oh well, better lock the door of the man cave, make sure the wife is occupied and get cracking.
Added some good ones and let some good ones go. Some of the ones added to the collection: A portion of the ones I let go...some of these I regret selling!
@kyle L compax and reverso are wonderful. Disappointed I missed out on your horn lug, been after one for a while.
Down to around 50% from twelve months ago and managed without medication A few that arrived/ couldn't pass by,
That's one of the ones I regret selling. It's an uncommon model but just didn't sit right on my wrist.
@kyle L I'm with you TBH, watches should be worn and enjoyed, even if it is an uncommon model. I've let watches go that haven't worn as well as I'd hoped. Also I can really complain as I've been lucky to pick up some special watches this year.
Some watches I've been lucky to pick up. Thanks to OF members for their help along way and and big thank you to Jeff @JM251 for the my favourite watch the rose gold grand luxe which I wore in October on my wedding day Hmmm that's more than I realised! Well some had to go and here a few nice ones. The dial on the Rolex was incredible and hard to photograph Auction hse photo....not my nails lol Sorry can't remove the duplicates
Just a bit...Dealer in Paris sold me a 2998-6 in 2015 reluctantly but would not part with a Tri-Compax..."You have no capable watchmakers in the States" he said. Them is fightin words....Waiting for my Polerouter to get a "new" rotor (yea boy do I have a watchmaker) and i will make a group shot...

Started off deciding not to buy any watches this year. Then ordered a speedytuesday. The image was sent by my sister, who is looking after it for me. The rolex is hopfully on its way soon after the funds have cleared. Was hoping to add the Harrods Tudor BB but they are all sold out so will have to wait until next year.
