So that was my goal for 2019, and it didn’t go as planned. A few things happened on the way to the forum... Not sure what 2020 bring... How did everyone else end up?
Are you sure you’re done for this year??? I’m not, so I’ll hold off on giving details By the way, I like the idea of starting off with relevant posts from the Plans for your collection in 2019 thread.
Amazing! I think the RO detracts from that set though. Where do you buy the ink for your money machine?.
In the last post of this thread I've said I'm done for the year but yesterday I bought two more watches... I cant help it... Sorry...
@seekingseaquest I am done...nothing else for me to sell to fund at this point without it really hurting. @kingsrider No money machine, trust me...all soft money that is backed up by hard dollars from sales of existing pieces. It's a shell game that I've seemed to have mastered.
Holy hell that wabi-sabi GMT work of art has me lustful. LUSTFUL! I’d call dibs but pretty sure I’d have to give you my entire collection and my first born child... and so far the kid’s a keeper...
I end up with too many watches! I am just collating pictures for a SOTC post, thinking I should unload a few, while waiting for the last purchase "I could not miss" ... Well, nice things happened in the chrono department, not the 806 I envisioned but still...
Hmmm, looks like I have not bought a watch since the #ST2 arrived last fall. Apparently all I bought watch-related this year were a couple Forschner bands, a book, and a Timex for my wife. On the 'plus' side, I also did not sell anything
Despite my vow to start selling this year, I never got around to it. However I had some inexpensive fun this year with Baltic and Timex LE’s. All are terrific watches. This is my 2019. The Omega came in a trade for a speedy. First time in a long time that Omega watches have not dominated. Still have many of my Omega watches.
Just glanced at the watch box. It has 12 spaces and I have 12 watches 2 x Omega 2 x Casio 2 x Seiko 1 x Rolex 1 x Orient 1 x Magrette 1 x Glycine 1 x Marathon 1 x Swatch Categories covered, dress, diver, chrono, dual time, solar, radio synch, auto, manual wind, quartz. Having no need (or interest) in complications such as GMT or moonphase, and a positive dislike of skeleton/openheart unreadable dials, I'm pretty much content with where I am at present. And still no Speedmaster
Both Speedies are out of commission needing mainsprings. So I got a Seamaster to wear! And then I started looking at watches again and acquired a Megaquartz 2.4MHz. So, you know, the usual.
In 2019 I sold traded a few pieces and be more focused on Omega. Luckily acquired a 145.022-69 with 220 bezel and 3 Constellations. Still aiming for a Rolex 1675 atm but a minefiled out there
