Buy it unless perhaps your bathroom looks like this

I've got the chance to buy a mint condition 2254.50. I have the funds but I also have a bathroom that needs some work. The bathroom can wait, it's not urgent, but a job I'd like to get done.

So I'm asking you guys to point out all the negatives about this watch. I want to hear that the movement is poor, the bracelet uncomfortable, the lume is mediocre and the overall finish of the watch is substandard.

It's not even a good looking watch right? In fact this could possibly be the worst piece of dirt that Omega have ever produced! Just look at this random pic I got from Google....everything about this POS is plain wrong....

Looks cheap and nasty doesn't it. Why on earth anyone would waste their hard earned cash on garbage like this is beyond me.

Negative comments welcome....my missus wants the new bathroom and surely I don't need another watch 馃槙

Hilarious!
Most of these comments must have been cut directly from TRF in reference to almost any OMEGA.
I bought a 2234.50 because I didn't want that useless He valve.

Think you mean non-A/C dial, but yes that is a popular mod on these. Also swapping for a PO bezel is another version of this mod...

Wear it once or twice a month for two years and it pays for itself!

I think the 2254.50 was the first quality watch I tried in an AD about 15 years ago (significantly cheaper back then) and I wish I'd bought it! Some beautiful aspects to the dial, hands, bezel.

On the other hand, that helium refill valve always annoys me when I see it, the crown is rather pointy, and the 4 line essay on the dial is too much text for me.

It's okay I just played 3 hours of tennis in the sun, wind, and at times rain. It often feels like my arm has no communication with my brain when I'm on the court!

Why not combine some of the 2254.50 with the 2201.50 ?
I never really cared for the case or bracelet on the SMP but the wavy and swords have always appealed to me.
And the 2201.50 sweeper looks much better to me as well so why not keep it and play a little.
I picked up a Blue wavy from the titanium version ( I think the 2231.80 ), a set of swords from the 2234.50 GMT, a sweeper for the 2201.50 and white date disc from ofrei, sat down and put together a version I really like.
The possibilities are endless 馃榾

you guys always make me laugh ...... that watch made me cry. Have you put one on your wrist ? If you fall into the water wearing one, the weight of it will take you to the bottom ...

Here's a couple 11 more reasons:
1) it's too thin!...a dive watch should be thick and chunky so you always know it's on your wrist.
2) the scalloped bezel doesn't hurt your fingers when you turn it, what?!...that's what it's all about? It should have a coin edge or notches like all the other divers out there.
3) the almost hidden date window: what?!...if your going to have a date window it should be loud and obvious like with a white background, window frame or a magnification cyclops on the crystal. This is exactly reason the Sea-Dweller is so unpopular.
4) the domed crystal...No!...it's should be flat so you can make sun reflection spots on the walls for you cats to play with. Also it's nice to have an abrupt edge to the crystal so it can chip.
5) the painted logo, script and markers on the dial...a tool watch should be more blingy with applied white gold logos and white gold surrounds...that's why the vintage Subs, GMT's, Seamasters etc. are not very popular with collectors.
6) the 2254 lacks a ceramic bezel!...I hate that because it's not shiny enough!
7) the clasp is too contoured and we'll designed...it doesn't make enough noise when I open or close it by pushing the buttons
8) 2 matching sword hands....WRONG!...the minute hand should be baton style for more variety
9) the matte charcoal wave dial: yet another design error- it should be a shiny black surface, for a more bringy appearance.
10) the solid caseback: another mistake....it should be a glass-back. I mean who wants that Hippocampus thing on there? It never really went we the Seamaster branding.
11)What?!...no "Bond bracelet"?...that's inappropriate and unfashionable.

Oh yeah, terrible watch...I hate mine so much I don't ever want another diver....

I must say that I'm very disappointed in you guys.

If you're going to discredit a watch use more venom. There has been plenty of bark on this thread but very little bite.

You simply did not try hard enough! For this I blame each and every one of you.
Look what you made me do....

And don't even get me started on the bathroom.

Thanks guys!

Hey!...bathroom remodels can be messy projects where your work space gets wet, dark and you can loose track of time...you need a adequate timepiece to compete the job, right?...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Of course it takes you to the bottom its a diving watch! You need a submerger watch if you want to get back up hehe
