Hey guys. Saw this at my local dealer and was wondering if there's any reason not to buy it. It's pretty polished and looks like the hands have been replaced but dealer says they didn't replace them. They did say they replaced the crystal though and cleaned the movement. The lume on the dial looks pretty consistent. Crown looks good and correct. Looks like a wide Omega 24 tooth. Bracelet is 1039 with 516 endlinks. Caseback is single bevel. DNN bezel looks good and I think that's correct for a 3059xxxx.

The only cons are the caseback horse and logo is very faint. Can barely even see it in the photo. And one of the links has been repaired but not very well but I'm sure it wasn't easy to fix. Also didn't have time to have them open it up to see the movement but would definitely check it out before purchase. Everything runs fine from what I saw though.

So just wanted to hear what other people see and think about it. They're asking $5300.

    Thanks

Polished and refinished I think. Nice dial and bezel.

I concur about the hands, and the crown is a replacement. Still, the price is about right including the bracelet (I think that repair can be improved). Not a tremendous bargain given the issues, but not bad.

Hands can be tritium or luminova service hands. I am not sure but most of the 69s handset degraded quite worse compared to other premoon so they needed service replacement?

This one is tritium right? I have tried to flash UV light to it it lights up a bit and lume die down same as the dial. Never had a lumimova one to compare

I would not buy it . You can make a case that the value is there on paper, but that does not always translate in to future salability.
A watch with issues VS a watch with no or minimal issues. Find another, there's plenty out there.

A luminova will shine for a few minutes after full charge? This handset only last a few seconds as the dial.

I’ve seen better examples of this reference go for a bit less in the classified’s here in recent months. It all depends on how badly you have to have it now.

I certainly can’t speak to your experience with the charge, but I would say that’s a service replacement drop hand (and hour and minute). I’m assuming your watch is a -69 with a different handset?

but... back the OP’s watch - I do like the dial

Yes of course it is a service replacement, just wonder if it is past tritium service or modern luminova.

I would love for someone to have slapped an incorrect tritium replacement drop hand on a -69 but I’m just not thinking so. The picture you showed looks fairly white ::confused2:: but I could certainly be wrong

I don’t think that minute hand is Omega at all. It certainly isn’t Speedmaster.

I agree. That lume goes way past the start of the point.

Oh didnt even notice that , well they are not original by any mean so i can live with it since it matches with the dial quite well.Sourcing a nice handset now cost alot :mad:

Pass. Many better examples to choose from regardless of the price on this one and I personally think it's too much money for a watch with issues.

The caseback is a feature on this reference and it's been erased. A definite no go for me. Would be a hard resell given the issues.

    Cheers,

Some aspects of this watch are very nice, dial, bezel, bracelet with a bit of TLC, case looks nice to start with but the high polish of refinishing says to me its been made up to sell.
