If you can't see that this entire watch is mimicking the MK40 Schumacher with it's design, I really don't know what to tell you.

But different strokes for different folks. It'll probably keep it's value well, so you won't go wrong with buying it.

I think the day/night function subdial is appropriate and useful as that subdial only really indicates the movement is active... it would be difficult to read seconds off it with any accuracy on any speedmaster... so, I think it is more effective in indicating that the movement is active. I think people are caught up on the original purpose of that subdial on the mk40 without recognizing it may have other functionality...

Interesting no other arrivals have been reported. Where are the rest of the 500 pieces?

Hodinkee sent out an email to their customers saying their customers pieces will be delivered in the next couple of weeks. Not sure about the OB’s though.

Hopefully some other Forum Members will post news about the OB's. At least one member said theirs was coming from the Chicago OB. Another said that NYC 5th Ave hadn't received any.

@brandnew2 Congratulations. Looks great. Keep it on the dark navy leather strap from Hodinkee that you were smart enough to buy with it.

Thanks! And I think you're right - after swapping a number of swaps indecisively back and forth over the past week, I think I like it best with the dark navy leather strap.

I'm waiting on mine as well - ordered through OB (Brookfield Place) in NYC.

Wrote to Hodinkee shop - they are expecting a batch in the coming weeks but they won't know the size or exact date we'll get it until closer to that day. The boutiques run on "their own system" so Hodinkee does not have insight into how their batches are progressing. I e-mailed the OB I ordered through in December and the salesperson simply left it as "as soon as I have info, you'll be the first to know".

At Hodinkee's 10th anniversary party, I spoke to one of their employees and apparently they were getting batches but for some reason the serials weren't sequential and distributed to the corresponding order number. I'm taking them at their word on that one.

In any event, sounds like it'll be a couple of weeks, if not longer.

Hopefully this tiny bit of info helps those who are also waiting.

For those who received the watch and were initially on the fence about it, could you comment about what won you over in person that doesn’t come across in pics? I’m a little split on this watch and appreciate the help.

I liked it in photos and I like it in real life, but if anyone is in NYC and wants to see the watch, you're welcome to come meet me around my office and see it in person some time during the next couple days. I work in the financial district near Wall Street. Send me a PM and we can set something up.

Thanks for the photo! I was wondering how it would look on the racing bracelet. Looks pretty good!

It’s hard to say how many of the 500 have been delivered. Initial guess is less than 10 pieces.
My understanding is that 50 have been delivered. Random numbers, not necessarily the first 50 as mine is in the 2xx. Love mine so far!

Today I’ve got mine on a black leather vintage style strap from Hodinkee. The strap is quite a bit thicker and more substantial feeling than the Omega vintage-style leather strap that came with the watch, and I think this looks a bit better than the stock strap given the thickness of the case.

As a side note, I stopped by the NYC Brookfield Place Omega boutique on my lunch break today and they have yet to receive any deliveries of this watch.

Mine is here but I won’t be able to pick it up at the OB until next week. Can’t wait!

I just looked at ebay, there are 6 for sale right now, that doesn't count the 2 (or more) that are for sale on forums. If rwelliot is correct, then over 50% of the watches delivered are for sale, that's crazy! I'm waiting for mine from my OB, hoping to see it sometime in January.
