I saw an extract of a 69-racing with very close serial, also May1970 and the extract stated in the field "dial": "not mentioned". So at least there was no hint for a black dial......... Crazy stuff

I could well imagine that some of those who have "racing dial" on their extract have supplied that information to Omega when requesting the extract themselves. Not implying foul play, only that similar has happened on a number of occasions.

Hi, welcome to the club

Here is mine 296093XX production May 29th, 1970, delivered in Switzerland on June 3rd, but with no mention of dial color:
I have old orange hands, but not sure it would be a good idea to change it. This watch probably left the factory with these white hands.
Almost all "racing" dial have different sets of hands.

The other one I know, sold few month ago in Switzerland for about CHF30000 on Ricardo.ch:
Almost the same serial number as mine and delivered to swiss market that same day on june 3rd, 1970.

2 more sold in the last year, but later movement numbers and different hands sets too:

Thx for sharing your data with us. It seems that there are many variations out there but all around may 1970....
Very interesting that they sold it with different hand-sets....
Now I am pretty sure that all is fine with my racing speedy

It is not enough to mention something special to see it reported on the Extract. Same story for the Ultraman Speedmasters.

I heard about similar stories, that there have been notes on the order for archives that the dial is a special one. And based on these infos the extract was 'printed'....
But am completely not sure if there is anything true about that....i also dont want to imply anything to anybody here.
I also noted this info when I ordered the extract.......

One of the autor of the Moonwatch Only book wrote in a french forum:

Nos records indiquent les versions 69 avec cadrans racing suivants:
- 4x en 29.6 millions
- 1x en 30.5 millions
- 1x en 31.6 millions
- 1x en 32.2 millions

That means that they only know 7 racing dial from 145.022-69, and 4 of them with 296XXXXX

That's a very very rare watch!!!

Guys at the Omega Museum / Archives now want to see the watch in order to eventually add such specific comments to the Extract.

Not implying foul play, only that similar has happened on a number of occasions.

This explains that 😉

So the autor only knows about 7 racing models which are confirmed by Omega or about 7 models which have been reported to him by owners (including serials)??

He told me that none were confirmed by Omega, as racing dials were never mentioned in the archives.

The list above is all the information collected from owners/auctions over the years about 145.022-69 with racing dial.

Interesting. Do you mean see photos of or hold in their hands?

They won't any more... easy to change a dial and say it's original..

Hold in hands and do their checks.

I was in the Museum last year with mine and they never said that they would add it on the extract !!

This doesn't mean yours isn't original - and you're still one of the lucky owners of a very rare watch 👍
