Well after pacing the house all day waiting for Fedex to arrive, my new generation Speedy hesalite just arrived! I thought instead of a standard wrist shot I'd go a little deeper in the photos. I went ahead and got the "watch results" of it's accuracy off of the Omega website and thought I'd share what that looked like with everyone. Also wanted to share some photos of the box, the bonus travel case that comes out of the watch case (so cool!). Oh and from a first hand experience, without having to walk the streets of Italy with my selfie cam, I can promise you, there are no traces of blood or cutting on my wrist from this! It's one of the most comfortable bracelets I've ever owned. Much more comfortable and much more lighter than the previous generation bracelet. Highly recommend this new iteration of the classic to everyone!! And now, for the photos!
Congrats, and enjoy! I picked up the same one, and I'll be curious to know about the accuracy of yours over time. Mine's now a month and a half old, and with daily wear it's holding steady at ~ +1.2s/d with the attached as the official testing results. Cheers!
My METAS precision was +3.3 seconds and after a couple weeks I think it's better than that, but I have not confirmed. I just remember setting it on the 17th and it's only 8 seconds ahead this morning. And congrats on yours. I agree, the whole sharp bracelet debacle is bonkers. It's the most comfortable watch I own now.
Oh I meant to tell you all one thing! Just a tip: when you're sizing your bracelet for the first time on this new model, keep that plastic on the back of the links on while you are removing the amount you need. It keeps everything lined up for when the screws/sticks go back in. Otherwise it's tricky trying to keep all the links in line (there are actually 5 parts to get the stick through, you'll see), so having the back sticker left on until sized helps keep everything still and lined up! #themoreyouknow
Beautiful watch and wonderful presentation... boxes and all. Curious, are you left handed? Is there a reason you are wearing the watch on your right wrist? Just curious...
Nothing. I was just commenting that I’m also left handed and wear on my left. I don’t think it really matters if you’re left or right handed on which wrist you wear.
Where did you get your Speedy from? I noticed the plastic coffin was included. I’ve been tempted to order from Omega directly as my AD is out of stock and taking deposits now. Omega US website seems to have them in stock.
Beautiful piece and fine fotos, OP! Glad to hear about the comfort and the high accuracy on these. I don't tend to be bothered by the swings of the 1861 but it's nice to chuck on one of my more accurate watches without worrying about resetting. Although there aren't many places to be atm here even if we wanted to.
