1. Seller shilled own bidding but ended up winning
2. seller not satisfied with ending price
3. Buyer chickened out at too high a ending price

I think the majority of re-listed watches are down to shillers winning their own item rather than flaky buyers. Certainly with vintage Omega. Perhaps the gap is narrower with modern Rolex etc.

That watch is already at $355, which seems like top of reallistic market for it already so it would seem to be shilled bidding issue to me.

I disagree, Id easily pay $600 or more for that nice example. However the previous price reached was far too much

The listings I watched were all from different sellers and were: Nivada CASD, Croton CASD, Eterna Super Kontiki 130, Certina DS2 PH200, and the Omega above. The Nivada CASD is the same one listed in our private sales section. It finalized on eBay for $1,700 and was listed here a couple days later for $2,200, stating scam buyer. The Eterna finalized at $1,400 (poor dial “tropical lume” 🤦 the plots were black) and was relisted as BIN a day later for $2,000, stating scam buyer. The Certina was a believable non buyer as it was relisted BIN for the equivalent finalized auction price. The others, like the Omega above, were relisted as auctions a few days after the prior auction completed.

I haven't had luck on any of the ebay bidding items I have been interested in. They all seem to go for way more than I think they should. I have only had luck with buy it now items when someone comes back with an offer that seems reasonable.

I've been on eBay for almost 10 years and I just learned what shilling is now..

Well if this crazy U.K. governments carries on the way it is and does away with decimalisation you’ll be hearing the word “shilling” a lot more.

Speedmaster Professional LCD, working and nice condition too, these don’t pop up often and when they do they tend to be rough.

I reckon that LCD in that condition could actually crack $3k… people realise how cool they are now and that one is really mint.
