I know very little about vintage watches, so I want to make sure I'm getting a fair deal. I really like the look of the Omega Deville. Can someone please let me know opinions on these three watches on Ebay and one from watchestobuy. Also, I have a few questions. Why are so many sellers on Ebay from India. Are they reputable? I have a very small wrist. Will the Deville be too large? Finally, can I use any band, such as a cloth band? I appreciate all the advice and help you guys give. Thank you.

Not bad, just way too expensive. This seller is not above making a franken so I'd want pictures of the internals. You can negotiate with them and they are very accomodating (particularly Brandi) but I don't know if they'd come down to a fair price for that (under $800 considering it probably is serviced).

A little raw, but worth going up to $500 for if you really like it. A service and a new crystal or a good polish of the existing one would do wonders for this watch's appearance.

Pass. Refinished dials are not worth it.

Damaged lug, refinished case, and suspected franken of a movement. Pass. You can find nice original versions of this exact watch for $500 - $700 depending on condition. If this were on eBay in an open listing the winning bid would be under $500 if the bidder saw the imperfections.

Sellers from India generally specialize in taking perfectly good watches and destroying them by repainting the dials, and very poorly at that. They are also fond of slapping a strap on old pocket watches and passing them off as wrist watches, although the Ukranians are far more fond of that method.

I am not saying that you should never buy a watch from India, but.....never buy a watch from India ;)

Thanks, "ulackfocus". That was very helpful. I think I'm going to see if I can get some internal pictures of the first one. Can you tell me how much I should expect to spend on service if I get this one from ebay?
