If I was going to buy oem, I'd just as soon buy it IN the OB for the "goodwill points" with a salesperson.

There you go! Build that "relationship", so you'll get called on a future Limited Edition you may be interested in.

I'm not a huge fan of this relationship model that's becoming more and more prevalent in the watch retail scene. But anecdotally, I've found even the smallest things like purchasing a strap or a buckle, carries meaning with some AD's and OB's sales staff, when they form their who-to-call lists, to ask for deposits on upcoming LE's.

While checking out Blancpain at a Swatch Group Tourbillon, the sales person said to me "...because you have a past relationship with us, we can offer you [x] % off MSPR..." while the only 'relationship' I had that particular AD was purchasing an Omega tang-buckle & a couple spring bars from them 3 years ago 😟

This reminds me of a story I read a while ago of a guy randomly going into a jewelry boutique in Maine and they said they'd put him on the waitlist for the new ceramic Daytona if he bought anything - and I mean anything - from store. He bought something small, and then a week later, they gave him a call and told him that his watch was in.

Is it just as good? Maybe, could even be the same material but it's not the same. I have about 30-40 natos but nothing IMO compares.

Buy Omega straps for your Omega watch. I like 3rd party straps but I'm not pretending they are the same.

Like saying a homage watch is the same as an original. I
Phenomenatos are great too. More expensive though; friend of mine argues they are better than the Omega ones. 😗

The company wants its share of sales in the complete wristwatch market, so bracelets will follow...
The new 3861 strategically priced at the current prices of a decent "145.012" and the new 321 at current prices for a decent "105.003", they already have the vintage market in their sights... maybe next can be decent sized wristwatch boxes, like the little cubic crater box of the 1970s

Completely agree. Purchasing online removes the “face time” I get at the boutique. While I love the convenience, I’d rather build a relationship...

But sometimes the relationships are not worth it, IMO, because it is a one-way street. For instance, I have purchased two new Omegas from my local AD, and had several watches serviced there. I have tried to purchase new straps 2 different times — they take my info, say they will order it, and get back to me when it is in. After waiting over a month each time, I called back and discover they had not, in fact ordered it and did not know what went wrong.

I have given up on ordering anything from them because of this; if it’s not already in stock, I do not expect them to care to order it for me.

Only “perk” i have received for being a repeat customers was free tickets to a preview showing of Spectre a few years ago.

The blue camo would look smashing on my grey and blue Diver, but it maxes out at 19mm and tapers to 14(!)mm. Oh well!

As a fan/frequent user of both, I can assure you they are not.

Yes, there are no guarantees when it comes to "relationships." That's why I said, if the price was the same, I'd at least take a chance on being memorable just in case.

You're not the only one here. I ordered a leather strap for moonwatch as gift for my friend's birthday and guess what - no response from them and it all ended with an OEM from eBay. God bless eBay!

¿What about bracelets?
PS. Prices are soooo high. For instance, the brown strap of the FOIS 250€. 300 including pin bucle.

Funny. I've found the quality of that strap quite appalling. I got it all worn and dirty in two months after buying my FOIS.
I dont know is it just my habits or the quality. But I've found my Hirsch strap superior and it cost me only 20 € second hand...

Well I on the other hand ditched my Omegas as I find the Phenomenatos to be better. Quality wise they are the same but the latter doesn’t have the stupid exposed front hardware piece digging into your hand. And it has a one piece buckle that is theoretically safer compared to the Omega one with spring bar.

The only negative with this and the NATO's is if you order from OB or AD you get the strap, but if you order from omega.com you get the cool red carry case, spring bars in the little tube and the option to buy the Omega branded spring bar tool. Although I still find myself using a bergeon 7825.

As I'm looking for a strap for my PO I was pleased to see this but the prices do seem to be high but in honesty I'm not surprised by them.

Why is it that when you wear a rainbow strap people think you're gay?

Rainbow flag represents the not-heteronormal people and their allies. Those who believe in acceptance.

Because that community has appropriated the rainbow as being uniquely symbolic to them.
They are able to leverage off it at will now.

Get used to it or suffer the consequences.
