$50 for the buckle seems reasonable, at one point I was going to pay close to $100 for an 18mm buckle (X-33 replacement part or something like that) - luckily I found a vintage one for a lot less, don't know whether it's an original one tho, it probably is

Would be cool if we could buy buckles for ~$50 in different sizes, but I guess there's no point for them to sell it like that directly, also the buckles in this case are not as pretty as the vintage ones 😀

Silly question. "Between lugs:" is 21 mm for the Apollo 8. Does that mean I buy a 20 mm strap to have 1 mm of play?
best to buy a 21mm.

And they require you to buy a new buckle that's not needed. Agree, better to get a strap made to your specs from places like Genteel or one of the many bespoke retailers. Quality at least as good as OEM and huge range of materials, colors, threads, etc.
Agreed - buying the strap is one thing. If I want a strap, I don’t want to spend an extra £60 on a buckle. I already have omega buckles.

for me, a non runner. But good for those who don’t already have straps I guess.

For the people saying you have to buy the buckle, you don't. There is an option next to the buckle to remove it and buy the strap alone.

My bad - I didn’t get as far as to click into the item. Better for them to display the price of the strap I’d think and then let the user add a clasp/buckle as an extra.

in which case, this is an interesting option for sure as my chances of getting to a boutique are slim

I think they include the buckle/clasp in the price because they don't want people to get the wrong idea of only buying the strap with no buckle or clasp. I can only imagine some people being "What do you mean I need to spend another $50/$250 for a buckle/clasp? I just spent $300 on a strap and it doesn't come with it!?"

Oh this is cool! I’d probably buy at the OB rather than online but I like seeing the range and pricing!

Yeah hey not for nothing, Jean Rousseau are the OEM supplier for Omega's straps and they've been selling online for ages. For quite a bit less, too. And customizable, at that.

Only reason not to is because the "OMEGA" embossing and buckles are worth that much to you

Of course - you also run the risk of putting someone off with a higher price. A simple message in the product screen saying that a buckle is not included and to pick one from below if you need one would suffice - but hey, it doesn’t matter anyway as long as you can buy one without.

I think They do a lot more straps than that - but I guess these are the ones they have readily available.

Me too. And they don’t have the one I want online ::facepalm1::

it’s good though. An option that wasn’t there before

Yes, there would be some play. There are some options on the Omega site and some vendors carry 21mm straps. Some people buy a 22mm strap and trim just a bit or just force the strap in. 21mm is an odd size but with a few Omegas and now Rolexes there might be more options.

Even a simple message saying buckle is not included would still trip people up. The average person is pretty dumb so I can see them doing this just to avoid the pissed off customers.

Maybe they will start adding new ones as they go, just like they do with the NATOs.

$26 on Amazon. Same seat belt grade quality fabric as OEM and hardware interchanges perfectly.

Is it just as good? Maybe, could even be the same material but it's not the same. I have about 30-40 natos but nothing IMO compares.

Buy Omega straps for your Omega watch. I like 3rd party straps but I'm not pretending they are the same.

Like saying a homage watch is the same as an original. I

Feels like it came from the same factory. Considering the only way anyone could tell is the hardware, I don't see the big deal.

I have to say, I agree. I’ve bought tens of NATO’s including some ‘premium’ and they’ve all been crap apart from the 3 omega that I own.

might have to give one of these a try however....

If I was going to buy oem, I'd just as soon buy it IN the OB for the "goodwill points" with a salesperson.
