I bought this strap on Amazon for less than 10 dollars US and free shipping. 18 mm but it fits the 19 mm lug width of my FOIS well enough. By the way I'm not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) it's just that I like rainbows. Why is it that when you wear a rainbow strap people think you're gay?

Getting an 80's vibe from it. Same here. I'd wear it. It's pretty cool.

I think the lockdowns are forcing them to shift more products online.
Totally agree, but these prices for just a strap are really awful.

Prices were the same before they were available online. I agree prices are high but i am one of those people who would rather pay more and get an official product. Don't like using third party stuff.

I haven’t noticed anyone doing an “unboxing” of one of these straps bought online from Omega, and until I just received one I would not have guessed it worthwhile.

But, some may find the presentation by Omega interesting if they’re considering shelling out $$$$ for these:

Overall a pretty nice presentation, and goes to show Omega is really moving toward an online sales platform.

Half the selling price is for all of that presentation lol.

You can buy a NATO strap at a Boutique or AD with nothing included.
At the same price you can order it online and it comes in a presentation box with a tool and extra spring bars.

Yep, they do it well don’t they. The only thing is, I now need to find somewhere to keep all my strap boxes!

assume you bought that for the 321? Hope you enjoy it.

That is a nice looking case. Will the case fit a watch? I mean can we use it as a travel case or for storage? I like how it is so flat compared to the omega service cases which are bulky.

yes and no

in some ways it works rather nicely as a case for watches on straps (as compared to the “eyeglass case” shape that I find best for watches on bracelets).

however, there’s quite a bit of wiggle and shift room once closed if the case is jostled around a lot. It would be perfectly acceptable for storing a watch in a safe. But to store a watch in a carryon bag, I think the solution would be to place a square pad of foam behind the watch head to secure it in place once closed

Unlike the “eyeglass” type case, this one comes with the nice little leather resting pad

yes, it ain’t a cheap setup and there’s a lot of wisdom in those who wouldn’t approach a leather strap and buckle at these prices.

for my particular purposes and situation, though, I wanted to treat myself, as it were, for my SS 321B

and to the point of my post: the presentation and box of the SS 321B sent by the OB to me was wildly underwhelming compared to this strap delivery direct from Omega online.

All of the comments about changing straps is why I only buy straps with QR pins.

Oof! Dollars!

If the plan is that people are meant to be buying them from licensed sellers, maybe they'll be a lot less than manufacturers retail price and the stock'll actually sell at sort of 20% less than that. Is this is naiive of me? Sometimes, direct from the manufacturer is the most expensive possible way of acquiring a thing.

Slightly annoyed that I spent $500 on a strap and clasp that didn't come with all the extras that I could have gotten had I simply ordered it online ... I'll have to have a talk with the OB next time I'm in there.

For an OB, the only sense I could make of the discrepancy is the company's savings in margins on a direct-to-consumer sale via internet.

For an AD, it would be more obvious why Omega may begin creating differentiation of experience.
