He started in A-4 Skyhawks for the Yom Kippur war, 50 Skyhawks lost in 19 days in Close air support and SAM suppression. Later he transferred to F-4s and ultimately F-16s, finishing operational flying after the first Lebanon war of 82-85. Retired in 1990.

I bought a bunch of watches this year (I just got into watches this year after all). This forum has been very helpful for sure. Here are my top 5 favorites:

I bought the next two watches from fellow OF members. This UG Polerouter Date from @jordn:

This Cyma Dirty Dozen from @agee:

And for the last entry, an Omega Seamaster 300. I shared the story behind this project watch and how another OF member, @the future helped me throughout here https://omegaforums.net/threads/my-first-project-watch-sm-300.29560/#post-330756

I had a pretty quiet year in 2015...

Next one was a bit unexpected. I got a call from a forum member who was cleaning out a large chunk of his collection around the middle of the year. I had another one like this, but he made me the proverbial "offer he can't refuse".

BTW, Dennis retains the dibs rights on this one. Least I could do. 😁

Sorry, if he ( @ulackfocus ) didn't have the good sense to keep that one, no special DIBS rights should accrue.:whipped:

That one belongs with me! 🥰

A decent year for me. The Speedmaster below was bought after the advice of this forum and there is no way I would have pulled the trigger without the assistance of this place so a massive thumbs up and 'thanks' from me.

MkII Speedmaster - can you spot the deliberate mistake? The jeweler corrected his error quickly!

A Stowa that I adore and have been after for a while

I won a competition on another forum and my 'design' was made up this year - only 75 of them - I got number 1/75

My watch buying has slowed (well, that's a relative term) compared to past years. My favorites include:

1927ish solid white 14K Hamilton Barrel

Metro Datum Gangreserve

1655 Explorer II (similar to Kyle's, just a couple of years older)

1938 "Imperial" ref. 3139 in "Army" case
your Rolex imperial 3139 is excellent, very nice collection

I had a pretty quiet year in 2015.

The next one is totally out of character for me, but it is just so different I had to buy it. Zodiac Astrographic Jump Hour:

This one is a bit of a project, as it needs a cleaning badly and the case is pretty beat up. Hands and numeric dial are a bit out of sync also. I think I will send this to Paul in Sacramento after the first of the year. He seems to know his way around these Zodiacs.

Hi

I love this one! I had exactly the same reaction a couple of years ago when I found this one with unpolished case :

Not an astrographic, but an astrodigic (no jump hour, no date so less interesting caliber but still a design from outer space...)

I have been fortunate to have been able to adopt a few watches in this soon to be in the history books year of 2015.
The first was my long sought after birth-year watch. A Seamaster 14701. Thank you all fellow forum members for your generous sharing of your collective knowledge.

This is another which I had my eye out for and am very pleased I was able to find a great example. Larger than your typical vintage watch .
