    Hi again folks!
Im in the sharing mood these days, and today I just want to share a this little lot that came my way.
The lot 6 watches was offered through a local sales forum with some terrible pictures attached.
After looking through the pictures I contacted the seller with an offer of $1700.
The seller was a 75 year old man who had been collecting watches for over 50 years. After a watch related chat he told me I could buy the lot, but for no more than $1500. We made the deal yesterday and I picked them up today.

Three of the watches isnt very interesting (DOXA and Fortis (34mm) from the 50s, and a womens IWC in terrible condition.
These however are worth sharing with you guys:
(If you're impatient just look at the watch at the bottom)
    Hamilton - 1.jpg

A charming Hamilton a havent had the time to research yet. I love the hidden lugs and the watch is 38mm excl. the crown.

    Omega -1.jpg
    Omega -2.jpg
A Omega Seamaster from the mid 50s in OK shape.
This is a ref. 2577-5 with a cal. 351 bumper movement. The watch runs great, but needs some TLC.
I also included a picture of the crown. Do any of you guys know where this originally came from?

The reason i bought this lot: eterna1.jpg
Ive been looking for a Super Kontiki for a while and couldnt be more pleased. I love the patinated dial as well.
Im no expert on Eterna (by far) but this is what I know:
    - A bit unusual bezel (the minute bezel were more common)
    - The crown (screw down) isnt signed but as far as I know, thats like the original?
    - The gold Kontiki-emblem is in good shape.
    - Ref. 130FTP-1
    - Cal. 1489K
    - The serial number is hard to read, but I think its a late 60s model.

The watch will be sent for a mini-spa and Ive already ordered some new leather straps :D

    What do you think?

One of the more nicely aged examples that I've seen. Congrats!

That crown on the Seamaster is from Milus.

The crown on the Omega is from a Milus. Very nice Seamaster otherwise!

    Thanks, Bill!
I looked, on and off, for a year for those end pieces myself. I almost bought a cheaper chronolympic with the original bracelet just for the end pieces aswell:rolleyes: If I hadnt sold the watch to you I would had them made by a local watcmaker.
But I hope you have better luck than me :)

    Thanks guys!
Im very happy with the find and it tastes even better considering what I paid :)

    Thanks!
That really bugged me. I tried googling "Watch crown circle with horns" without much luck ::facepalm1:: Haha
As I dont have a spare original crown laying around, Ill keep the Milus crown. I actually think it looks kinda good;)

Great deal, obviously. Very lucky find.

The Super Kontiki is all good. As @Bill Sohne mentioned, it's a no-decompression-limit bezel, and the domed and unsigned crown is correct for this reference. The color of the lume is really nice.

    Thanks, @Dan S !
Do you know of any good sources of information regarding these watches online?
When Im researching Omega I always start with Omegaforums.net, with Certina I use vintagecertinas.ch etc.
I cant find similar sources for Eterna, just random posts in sub forums.

Not specifically for the Super Kontiki, but the following website has a lot of good general Eterna information, although it's in German. In particular, a serial number chart is hidden away. If you click on "Für Uhrmacher" in the frame on the left, and then scroll all the way down, you will see a blue bar that is actually a link to the table.

    Yup! :)
Ive done some research but I couldnt find much info.
All I figured out is that the watch were exclusive for the european market and made between 1971 and 1974.
