I just put it on this green rubber band and it adds a sporty vintage vibe combo. I’m looking forward to the weather getting cooler so I can go back to leather.

I have always been more drawn to the FOIS out of the different speedmasters. I love the straight-lug design...probably because it is the same design as a 1960 Seamaster I inherited from my father. So, I love that it evokes that more vintage look!

I loved everything about the FOIS except the second hand. I was never happy that the watch did not have a vertical clutch so the second hand could run continuously.

never understood why people complain that a chronograph is not designed to have a constantly moving center seconds hand — it kinda defeats the purpose of a timing instrument, where you want to record elapsed seconds from some starting point.

But to each their own.

I agree with you. But I would guess that most chronograph buyers don't use their timepieces as a timing instrument.

It feels more "vintage" than the Pro and perhaps a bit more versatile with leather straps than the Pro.

The 19mm lugs would bug me. Is it heresy to say that I'd fit white hands (are they even available?) and widen the lugs to 20mm? Ideally I'd narrow then down to 18mm. I have a thing about that size for straps.

There’s so many 19mm strap on the market now (compared maybe to 2012) that this is a non issue to me. 1mm difference is invisible, and you can fit 20 mm natos too.

Yep. I wear mine mostly on straps and bracelet but my partner wears hers on NATOs, and a 20mm Erika MN strap. Well-known vendors like WatchObsession, Crown & Buckle and loads of others sell 19mm straps, and bespoke makers also. I have never found this to be problem, just as with 21mm vintage divers.

the difference between FOIS and speedmaster professional 1861 cannot be reflected enough in photos videos. in person, they surely look as different watches.

legibility and color of the alpha hands on FOIS changes in accordance with lighting condition and angle

FOIS is with genuine omega 321 ed white bracelet and forstner end links. Pro is with Uncle Seiko bracelet.
They "look" not much different. They "feel" quite different.

I know it's been said before but the sapphire is wrong; should be hesalite. Just my 2c.

Plenty of love for the FOIS. The only modern watch in my collection. Love the vintage vibes and applied logo. I also like that the dial isn't as busy as the Pro given the absence of "Professional".

I totally agree. I had first bought a Speedy Pro in January, but did not really get warm with it. Then I managed to get a FOIS in August, and it was love at first sight. I also love the vintage vibe of the FOIS. It's also my only modern Omega for rainy days 😀.

I can't help but wonder how much nicer the FOIS would look with tritium lume plots and hands that would patinate over time. That’s one of the reasons that I own vintage Speedy Pros.

transplanting the pro guts into FOIS case might solve the problem
is there any way to souce the FOIS case? not wanting to molest the perfecting working brand new watch YET 😁😁
