How do we feel about the Tissot Navigator?

It seems to me that these are unappreciated and undervalued watches. They're solidly built, come in a range of interesting dials, and have quite good movements in them. Typically, we're talking Val. 7730/7733, though not a few sport the excellent Lemania 872.

This one is quite Siffert-like (minus the bezel).

This Navigator is powered by an in-house Tissot Caliber 28.5N-21T automatic 馃榾

I'd agree with Tissot in general being undervalued; I think these Navigators (I've got a V7734 Seastar like @nzshadow) are just *killer* watches, and I think lots of Tissot's best stuff's held back by size (their early time-onlys wear smaller than equivalent Seamasters) or shape (I don't see a ton of enthusiasm for tonneau-shaped 1970s chronographs, at least at the moment).

I believe these are very underrated models too. The T12 is a classic with the 872 at a fraction of the price of a 1970 Speedy. I know style is not to all tastes but it鈥檚 certainly distinctive! Here鈥檚 one of mine.

These have so many fun variations. I keep eyeing the ones with a central minutes counter - I really enjoy that arrangement.

My NOS Tissot Navigator with Lemania 1341 says hello:
This is absolutely beautiful. What is the approximate year of production? Is the box the actual one that it was sold with. NOS is a much overused term but this set truly looks new.

I cannot answer all your questions.
I bought this watch a few weeks ago from a collector.
He told me, that he bought it end of 80s/beginning of 90s on a watch fair.
He bought this watch with the genuine leather, clasp and with this box.
If I am honest, I cannot tell, if all the parts belongs to this model (but I think so).
He bought it as NOS and never used it...

A beautiful set, indeed! Every bit as nice as the Seamaster 176.007.

No longer have this one unfortunately but it was a great watch. Given condition, it was at the more expensive end of the Navigators, but I've seen far worse commanding high prices. Most I see have very worn or damaged outer bezels, and there is no way of replacing them as you cannot get parts. When I say high prices, this is still an affordable watch compared to most vintage chronographs, and I like that about it. You won't find many in this condition, though.

I will say that it's around 1974 and box is from the same ages.

Thanks for posting the magazine ad. I have a soft spot for the early 70's designs.

Really like the versions with central minute chrono hands, very legible, and the Yachting versions add some color as well.
