Do you know what era that is from? I’m guessing 50s. I think my watch 60s.. not sure when they changed style.
I haven't got any references but I'd like to think my buckle is '50s. That said, I recently purchased an '80s quartz that actually had a buckle with the applied logo, too. Therefore it might very well be the other way around.

Based on the style of the hour markers and the fat 'Centenaire' font, I'd agree on '60s on your example. As I mentioned before, the round track appears to be unique. I haven't seen it before on any Eternas and it is most reminiscent of the Longines Conquest, i.e. my ref. 9000.

Well, it arrived, and I’m very pleased. There’s a scratch on the dial near 3 and a few very minor scratches on the case.. otherwise it appears to be NOSish. Look at those lugs!

My questions:
1) Any way the crown is original? I haven’t seen this style on this case before but judging by the overall original condition, how the movement is close to untouched, etc., I would not be surprised if it’s original.
2) Think the croc strap is original?
3) Caseback sticker probably isn’t original, right? I plan to remove it and probably put a new one on.

I intend to reach out to Eterna on this one.. will see if they have any info on it.

Great Found ! Congratulations !

And both your watches have been ‘homaged’ by Baltic …, still tempted

I was tempted to have a go at this and would have had I not been on father duties and forgotten about the auction. I like the Kontiki range. Surprised this didn't go for more. Anything not add up on it for you Eterna fans?

My KonTiki 20 cost more to service than buy. All I can figure is that there are more desirable models. Which, in my opinion, makes the KonTiki 20 a good value for the money.

It's a chonky boy. Other than that: great quality and value for money. 150 GBP (or equivalent) is a steal.

Eterna is definitely one of my favorite brands and it's all thanks to the OF. I hadn't heard of Eterna before joining this forum and now I own four while I only own one Omega currently.

This pic is from Thursday, Im still wearing it, but its dark and shady so not the best time for a iPhone pic. I have 3 more Eterna, all modern variants. 1 is not in working order, 1 is a no date Kontiki with soprod movement if memory serves me right, 1 skeleton manual version with inhouse movement. And this, by far my favorite:

Edit here is a stock photo of what the watch looks like in strong light.

A similar dial was recently discussed here. This might be interesting for reference.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Definitely a resemblance.

Btw, I removed the caseback sticker - it was not the original one. Medallion looks 👍

And a wrist shot because why not..

The case serials seem to be roughly nine years apart.
425x -> 1958.
548x -> 1967.

I just picked this up on the weekend ::psy::

I’ve been looking for a watch with a different mood than my ‘61 Seamaster, and I think I found it in this double-signed Birks Eterna Matic 😎 Birks is basically the Tifanny’s of Canada.

It looked tiny on the black leather strap it came with, and didn’t really pop until the steel strap brought it all together.

Circa ‘62 it seems. I’ll have to wait until it gets to the spa to get the back off and confirm the serial #

Funny enough, I had this NOS metal strap that I thought would pair well with it…

…and I see that @Dan S did too! The strap feels a bit flimsy, how’s yours holding up Dan? https://omegaforums.net/threads/eterna-matic.18900/page-7#post-967461

@Canuck noted that Birks held the Canadian franchise for Eterna, certainly explains why a good number of them can still be seen. Some other Birks signed dials from this thread have included:

Thanks for viewing this 👍

Edit, where are my manners. Thanks to @Northernman for the pre purchase consult

Edit #2. I’ll put up a WTB for a new crown, does anyone know what I should be asking for?

I don't have that watch anymore, but here's something interesting. At a local meet-up, someone else showed up with a 1960s Eternamatic on exactly that same mesh strap. That watch looks great BTW.
