found an interesting ad for the centenaire. not sure what it means, may just be advertising pablum, but it makes some claims.
"...only factory to pass, with watches from serial production, tests set by the Neuchatel Observatory..." -and- "...make the Centenaire '61' a potential Observatory chronometer."
well that's odd. so, do "watches from serial production" mean that they just submitted regular movements plucked off the line? I looked up eterna's entries on the observatory chronometer database, and the results are ok. certainly not in the top 3 as many of omega's were, but good enough to achieve bulletins. but then, if they could claim such a thing, why not do so? why call them "potential observatory chronometers"? were there costs associated with acquiring such certification?
I'm guessing that I may be the only one interested in this.
