Bumping an old thread here. Never seen this dial before, and yes, I know the endlinks are incorrect but this was how it was when I bought it. Anyone know if the slots in the hands are supposed to be filled? No T marking on dial so I guess either white or black? 1424U with serialnumber from 1966.

This just arrived, and looks very very similar! Birks is a Canadian high end jeweler, and supplied many service men and women during WWII. It is not an issued watch from Canadian MoD. Movement labeled Eterna, dates to around 1943-44.
