Shame that the company that built the houses that came to underpin the Swiss watch industry with movements when inhouse was rare should somehow not be seen for its significance.

The change to Chinese ownership is an interesting development as PD was clearly doing the brand no favors. It appears to have created an interesting opportunity too, as the new guard clears the shelves of these http://www.ablogtowatch.com/eterna-madison-watch-with-new-calibre-3505-spherodrive-movement/ at deep discounts.

Sorry for the word "MINOR"馃槣,
truth is in Jakarta, Eterna Matic not worth for the "Collector" 馃檨
you can buy an Eterna Matic Centenaire 61 Black Dial just for USD 55, or Eterna Matic Chronometre for USD 100
Good for me...but still I don't have many friends to share its beauty馃槣

here's my other :
Fancy Lugs with Rail Road Track Dial

Buy me one of each in mint condition then - I'll pay a little extra for them if they're in perfect shape. Then ship them to me and I'll pay you a nice 'finder's fee'.

This thread, I like!! Keep them coming!!馃嵖
Minor on this side of the Pacific/Atlantic, but still a force to be reckoned with in China. I was there in Oct and saw plenty of ads for Eterna...and with a potential audience of over a billion, they could do very well!!

I only have one so far, but it is triple signed-Birks (Cdn equivalent of Tiffany's) + expo67 + Eterna. Likely a special order for expo67, but not sure if it was for the Swiss pavilion or as a presentation piece...

I always thought the Connie was rivaled by the Centenaire and the Seamaster was rivaled by the Kon Tiki. The Seamaster/ Kon Tiki rivalry even paralleled each other with respect to bifurcating into dress and sport versions.

Another rare bird in the box. Eterna Sonic diaStar by Rado. Case in Tungstencarbide. Heavy and scratch proof. Movement identical to Omega f300hz.

3000 was the series number. Eterna's full rotor men's calibers were 4 digits, usually starting with a 1, and sometimes followed by a letter.

Good catch. What I meant to say was the Cal. in the 3000
formed the basis for the ETA 2892. The date version was the 1466
This one is probably a 1455 or 1456(no date, same family as 1466), although he has the rotor covering it.
These movements were the last ones Eterna made in house before
ordering special versions from ETA for their watches I
believe.
I own 3 Eterna-matics but this one is my favorite
