Can you share why? Was close to doing this, but ended up sending to the service centre. What happened?
An update in which nothing is updated (re my Rio Seamaster currently out for official service): the AD called to say the watch has been received but there’s no estimate/date as “Omega’s system is currently down and isn’t expected to be fully operational again until after the 22nd.”
Just FYI.
And here we are two weeks later and STILL nothing. This is slow, even for Omega/SWATCH, in my experience. Guess it's not a great time to be sending in for an official service if you can avoid it, folks.
I've been calling the Omega line to order some parts for my bracelet for the last three weeks or so and they haven't been able to take orders as their system is down. Every time they say it should be fixed by next week...
Another update: finally got the estimate from Omega/Swatch today. I called the AD yesterday to inquire and they called Omega—I’m not sure if that expedited things, or if this estimate would have come in today regardless.
I also assume (but am not positive) that this means their system here in the US is back online. Or they’ve found a workaround.
They are estimating three weeks from now for completion of a basic full overhaul with lite refinishing.
So…
70 days from submission to estimate.
21 days (quoted) for the work.
I suspect it’ll end up being closer to 100 days all-in. If that happens, I’ll be pleasantly surprised as three months is quite a bit better than what I was initially told to expect.
My Speedmaster Professional is back from warranty service. From Omega boutique dropoff to pickup it was about five weeks.
That sounds very quick. What location? Am curious what the UK turnaround time is at present if anyone knows? Had one watch done nearly two years back and that took around 5-6 months for a standard service and replacement clasp
Regards UK turnaround times, I had my Seamaster 300 in for a full service earlier this year. Dropped it in at the UK Service Centre in Southampton in early January and they said it might be up to 4 months, but actually got it back in less than 8 weeks. They told me it was quicker than they expected as they’d now worked through their backlog.
