Fogged Out

Went to check the time on my Globemaster in Istanbul a few days ago and could barely read it. Cleared up overnight and then fogged up again when worn the following day. I assume a seals issue. How to handle? Do I start with a local AD for warranty repair/service?

I'd definitely send it under factory warranty before anything to see what they say.

Was the crown screwed down? Or was it pushed all the way? Can't recall if this model is screwdown or not.

Do you live in Turkey? If not, wait until you are home to start a warranty claim.

Fogging up means moisture is already inside, it'll clear up and fog up repeatedly depending on whatever environment you're in (like moving from warm room to cool room).
If its still under warranty, thats great, definitely take it to a boutique and let them send it in for service.

Back from service and all is well. Got charged shipping. Came back in a snazzy red travel box.

Was this a full service by Omega? Or did they just replace seals?

Either way, that seems like a really quick turnaround—most services nowadays seems to be taking 3-4 months.

@Archer can probably opine on this, but perhaps warranty repairs receive priority at the service center?

Don't knows for sure. It had clearly been polished though.

My A11 50SS had a warranty issue last year, turnaround was 3+ weeks for a complete overhaul.

It’s been discussed in other threads, but if this happens to you (anyone) get the watch into a bag with desiccants quickly. Crown open (to allow the moisture out) in a ziplock with rice is the easiest method (particularly if away from home) to at least try to and dry it out. The longer that moisture stays in the watch, the more potential for damage.

FWIW at the Toronto Service Centre warranty repairs are priority and turnaround is a much shorter 2-4 weeks.
