It has arrived 馃榾 I gotta get more creative with the pictures.

That IWC really does look good. It has a little bit more rugged and sporty nature than say an Aqua Terra or a Rolex OP. More like a Rolex Explorer or an Omega Railmaster, but unique and special/prestigious in it's own right. Definitely a classy pick!

Cheers mate!

Thank you! I absolutely agree with your thoughts about how this compares with and AQ or OP. And the main choice for me was between this and a denim Railmaster. The blue on this one won me over.

I don鈥檛 want to derail this guy鈥檚 thread but I have to step in here. Who cares? The guy asked a question and obviously wanted to start a conversation regarding HIS situation. Like it or not posting in old threads generally doesn鈥檛 get you responses. At least, that鈥檚 my experience on most forums and OF isn鈥檛 different in that regard.

If OP didn鈥檛 create this thread we wouldn鈥檛 have had the opportunity to see his new IWC and give him congratulations. Anyways, OP: Congrats on the new piece! It鈥檚 beautiful!

Congrats on the pick up. My wife also got a blue dial IWC Pilot. The le petit prince.

Take a look at the denim railmaster again. It should look good on you.

I have the 1957. And the denim is the next RM i would buy, if i had to.

I love the denim every time I see it but when I put it on the feelings are not as strong. I鈥檓 hoping to track down a 57 in person to see how that fits.

The 57 RM is indeed nice. My favorite of the trilogy.

My goodness! They are gorgeous! I think I will like the more bubble optical effect of the Railmaster '57 than the flatness of the new one. Well, that's what I think from just looking at pictures. No one near me has any for sale but now some are starting to pop up pre-owned. I've vowed to never buy another watch again so maybe in six months or so I'll be able to track one down. 馃榾

My stand on this is that if you want to build a good relationship with the AD and want to get some more in demand pieces in the future then buying at an AD may be a good choice. If you rarely buy watches then a Gray Market dealer may be a greater choice.

I agree with this now. I think for Rolex and Omega my plan is going to be AD purchases only with the idea that in the future I may want a limited or hard to find model.

Congratulations on the watch. Me personally when I am going to spend thousands of dollars on a watch, i like going to the AD, talking with them, being offered a drink or chocolates and how they make you feel special. Then knowing without a doubt you have an authentic watch.

Then having that relationship with the AD. They reminded me of a free checkup on ny watch as well. I am willing to pay the extra money for that service and security of having a authentic watch
