It is easy for us not in your shoes to offer "advice and wisdom"...and yet, that's one of the things we are good for. I hope your psychiatrists are doing well...the one with the watches might be the keeper. If I may offer a book or two that stood well with me..."In and out of the garbage pail" by Fritz Perls, and "Being Mortal" by Atul Gawande. In the meantime, some of us are new here and we might love to see some of your watches and enjoy you telling us about them. I know I would. Regards.

Welcome back. You gave me some generous guidance before your break / hiatus from social media and forums began, and I’ve been wondered how you’re doing from time to time. I’m sorry to hear it’s been a difficult period for you, but I hope things are starting to look up and that reconnecting with community will be beneficial for your mental well-being.

We have missed you mate. Great news to hear your mending slowly.

Ever need a laugh hit me up. One of my talents a fellow sufferer mate in Australia uses often.

Underneath all the watch chatter there are folks who care here on the Forum.

Glad to see your familiar avatar!

Welcome back!

I haven't yet had the pleasure of interacting with you on this forum yet, but your post truly resonated with me. I've had my share of depressive episodes over the years, and these last few weeks have found me in a pretty dark place, verging on a brownout at work. I'm feeling a bit better today, but everything is a delicate balance, and it doesn't take much to throw everything out of whack. I know that in my case pride often gets in the way of seeking help.

So thank you about being so candid about your situation, because your example might very well prompt me to more directly address my demons rather than spending time and energy trying to sweep them under the rug. I should know by now that it never works, and yet...

The rollercoaster is real. My own personal struggles pale in comparison so I don’t truly know what you’re going through but I wish you all the best. We haven’t interacted more than a handful of times over the years but you’ve always been someone who’s posts are ‘required reading’.

Welcome back, this place only benefits from people like you contributing.

Welcome back. Clinical depression is the real deal and needs to be taken seriously. You do others a great service by being brave enough to talk openly about your struggles. Please stay engaged. OF is a community. We need you and you need us.

Norman, if you want to try some new Avenues in Life, here is what OF could do for you: Focus on something new. Everybody interested here could send you an old, damaged, not working mechanical watch. You have to dismantle all. Then you create large " Mechanical Watch part Mobile Sculptures " , perfectly balanced ! Nylon fishing line connect to the watch parts and the main rods are Timber twigs/ Alloy rods or whatever you like. Take pictures of that journey for us. And then auction them between your Psychiatrist 's ..... Parallel action : Join Rotary. Fundraise for your Community. You will meet many, that need help in everyday life and you get a different point of view.... Crossing my fingers for you as our Guard Poodle does with his Paws. Achim
