Service my watches instead of buying more vintage watches.... I have about 10 in queue on my workbench.

Edit:
won another auction on eBay today - a 1932 Hamilton Whitney.
It took 8 days into the New Year to break my resolution.

Get off the roundabout, sell everything, retire, wear a Seiko Samurai and laugh about waiting lists at Rolex, Omega and the ‘next Limited Edition’

I am wanting a birth year datejust (72) 1601 with a linen or sigma dial. Also want a gold dress watch from the 60s or early 70s.

1) Newer Moonwatch (my first Omega!)
2) Apollo 13 50th Anniversary
3) Birthyear Moonwatch (1992)

Not sure how realistic 2 and 3 are but 1 will happen very soon.

Can cross #1 off the list! 😎 Officially an Omega owner!

You need to take it out of the box though. Body heat from wearing it will keep the oils from solidifying. 😁

My wish list watch isn't made (yet?). It would be a 44mm co-axial Mk40 Speedmaster.

How about just some new, thinner movements! Love the PO designs, but the case thickness is a real show stopper.

I think I like the black dial better on its own, but I feel that in terms of rounding out a “collection” (I kind of hate to call it that, not sure exactly why...) the white dial works better

the black dial explorer II, though clearly very different from the 2254.50, is also somewhat aesthetically similar.

thoughts on this rationale?

I was actually thinking exactly the same thing! What I like about the black dial on the 216570, are the "phantom" hands. Though they are in glossy paint, it is a nice details like was on the 1655.

However, a white dial would be better for my collection as wel! And just image going skiing, or on an adventure outside with the Explorer polar on your wrist, very nice.

So, for the 216570, I'd go for the white one!

I just checked off my first Omega. If I add another this year, it'll be a chronograph.

Either a standard Moonwatch or the Breitling TWA special edition Navitimer because I've collected a few David Klein TWA lithographs from the late 50s.

For 2020 I am mostly just looking forward to getting my watch back from the Omega service center 🤦 7 months and counting

If I stumbled into some money:
Rolex GMT master Pepsi (vintage or birth year)
Zenith El Primero reissue (38mm version)

Looking at a dive watch in 2020, preferably a modern Seamaster to go with my old one, but I might have to look to the East for now...

Hoping 2020 will be the year I rope in a 3592.50 hesalite sandwich!
