Since this could encompass any brand, I'm posting it here. Let's see what kind of WIS you are with a few questions:

    1) What's on your Most Wanted list?
    2) Do you go by whim and impulse or are you methodical and calculating? A little of both?
    3) If you got a big promotion, what would be the first watch you'd buy?
    4) How about a lottery win - what watch would be first?
    5) If you had $xxxx would you buy 1 modern watch or 3 vintage watches with the money?

    Hmm...

    1) Right now I guess a Rolex Explorer 1016, but these vintage Omegas are drying me up! :p
    2) A little of both.
    3) Probably that 1016.
    4) An old Patek Chrono/Moonphase or Calatrava. Or an old Daytona.
    5) Definitely vintage, many modern watches just don't do it for me anymore!

    1. A Vintage Longines, ideally a Flagship, clean and classy cut, simple and dressy
    2. Both, but perhaps slightly inclined on the deliberately side
    3. PP, Gondolo YG
    4. Double Red Rolex
    5. Right now, Vintage as I got too many modern watches recently

    1) Rolex Milguass GV / Submariner LV / AP ROC Blue dial w/ orange hands for modern. For vintage, 1019 Milgauss, Omega holy trinity (CK2913, CK2914, CK2915, all 1957) 18K Rolex 1680/8 rainbow dial, Rolex JCK.
    2) Both, I only buy if its good value (ie. below market value), not if I just want it.
    3) Milguass GV or Sub LV, probably more the sub, as a beater watch that I dont mind scratching when I need to protect my plexi-wearing vintage pieces.
    4) CK2915 Speedmaster and/or Rolex JCK
    5) Vintage every day of the week

Now that we've got a few replies I'll play.

    1) Longines Grand Prize caliber 352, Longines Conquest Power Reserve caliber 294, Omega Seamaster caliber 353, Omega Genève Dynamic caliber 563.....
    2) I'm a planner, but there's no fun without a little "Ooooo, shiny! I want it." on occasion.
    3) I'd track down a mint Seamaster XVI.
    4) Breguet 5197BB
    5) Vintage without a doubt.

    1) Either a Sub or PAM 240
    2) Impulse for less expensive but not for the big $$$
    3) That won't happen in my line of work.
    4) Lotto? Both and more
    5) Tough call; I haven't done either recently so I honestly don't know, one of each?

    2) hmmm...a little both
    3) I'd be on the hunt for a vintage Rolex diver in decent shape, maybe a submariner or sea-dweller... just so that I can say I have one :)
    4) The time keeping mechanism found in my would be new Audi R8 ::money::
    5) I'd go with the vintage pieces

:p That's a good one - but you'd be in line behind a couple guys. :D Besides, I'm not quite tired of that yet. Check back in, say..... 2 or 3 decades.

If I won the lottery, reckon Id clear all my debts first amd possibly buy a Nissan Gtr too, sold my 370 this week and bought a jeep. If I get another sportscar at some point it wont be fast, itll be mind meltingly fast. No way the GT is in my price range at the mo tho. Wouldnt have to be a Nissan, its just that I and my partner have owned 4 Nissans and they have all been bloody good.

    1. Submariner 14060m pre-SCOC, SD 116660, Speedy 3570.50
    2. Both. I try to keep things balanced.
    3. 14060m
    4. If I had won the $640m from Mega Millions, it would be a Sub 6538 big crown, Comex Sub or SD, Sub 5517, PAM 341 and 194, Ploprof (vintage and new), and something from Breguet. Do you think if I gave Rolex $10m for just one SDDS Challenge, they would make one for me?
    5. I would buy somethin new. Add another x and it would be something vintage.

    1) Omega Constellation piepan dial, Omega Seamaster GMT Great White, Omega Seamaster Blue wave dial-auto, Ball Fireman Racer, Omega Speedmaster, Vintage Longines, and others.
    2) Mostly whim and impulse, but trying to be more methodical
    3) I work for myself, so there won't be a promotion.
    4) Whatever I like that I could get my hands on the soonest, then I'd get the rest (ALL) of them.
    5) Tough choice, but why buy one watch when you could get three instead. VINTAGE ROCKS!
