After some unpleasant experiences with supposedly reputable dealers, to brighten up my week, I’m wearing my first vintage watch which I bought from an excellent dealer and to remind myself that there are good dealers around still.

Very nice. Congratulations.

Who are these "reputable dealers" you speak of so we may steer away from any potential nasty experiences as well?

Wow, that’s a great dial. Looks like a star map so very fitting. Love putting on my Constellation. Enjoy.

Pleased with this purchase.
I'll post some better photos when it arrives.

Photo as promised. Really pleased with how it turned out. New crown, crystal and service.

I love the patina. It’s so even!

Yes, that was my initial thought too. Hence my first foray into vintages.

Took this beauty with me backpacking in Europe for a month, through Switzerland and Baselworld. It's a 1969 751 linen dial Connie. Reason being, day/date is very useful while travelling. It's not as expensive as my pristine pie pans and I feel like it's more durable, so if I bang it up somehow, it wouldn't hurt as much. It was an amazing companion that started a ton of conversations with fellow watch enthusiasts and now friends. Kept excellent time, however after a month started losing maybe a minute per day... considering COSC watches have a +-4/day I definitely have to get it serviced soon. Being designed by Gerald Genta is a marvel in itself. Definitely has a place in my heart.

I wonder if I can do anything with the rust forming at the bezel, perhaps I'll ask my local watchmaker guy that's seen a billion vintage watches.

Love the coin bezel and 751 day-date movement, only thing I like better is a Presidential Rolex 1803.

Not likely rust - probably just dirt accumulating.
