You get some amazing stuff on ebay. Ever heard of the illusive Polerouter Chronograph from the 60's ? Here is the case for it ...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960-UNIVER...L-CASE-CASE-BACK-NEW-OLD-STOCK-/262127626448?

The only thing I am having a problem working out is why it shares the same reference as this one ..

http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNIVERSAL-G...TIC-WATCH-MINT-STAINLESS-STEEL-/131645021682?

Weird stuff !

Caseback and the rest obviously not belonging together.
The case reminds me very much of a Gallet/Zenith EP case?
WAM! (What A Mess!).

@LouS How do you keep track of all these niche forum topics? Also I wasn't aware this one was only for "useful" eBay sightings. Duly noted!

It doesn't have to be, but it should be for listings that are at least interesting to discuss. The ghastly-redial stuff is just clutter - hopefully no-one actually needs the heads-up. We could put it on here, but before long this would just become a listing junkyard. It can go to the gallery of horrors.

Good thing @LouS pointed this out. Being a noob, I inferred from this thread that most, if not all UGs found on Ebay would be fakes or frankens. So, there are legit UGs on Ebay?

read that piece by Eric that I reference in the intro to the thread - essential for noobs and even non-noobs

I don't have any experience in spotting shill bidding. Indeed, I learn to be skeptical on "private" bidders.

It's weird bidding. 2***b is either an inexperienced bidder, as the number of feedbacks suggests, or he is nudging up x***g's bid (placed nine hours earlier) closer to x***g's maximum, as a form of shilling. And then there are the private-feedback bidders, another red flag. Smells fishy.

Ok, I can see it now, but what's the point of it ? Nobody will bid more than $1625 for this watch.
