Might have to keep a close eye on #1, that does look rather nice

I'm pretty sure that is a redial.

I have some reservations about this Polerouter SUb - a bit too long and intricate to go into here, but I'd love to hear what other people think. One of these just sold for $3660, which is WAY too much in my opinion.

This looks correct to me. I'd love to know whether that crown is proper. Any opinions?

I like this one, although not in the best shape.

..and a sad redial with a classic mistake

An ignorant redialer has taken a simple register chronograph - a 'Compax' - and added "Tri-Compax" off center in different color ink, oblivious to the fact that a Tri-Compax is a different watch altogether. http://omegaforums.net/threads/tri-compax-four-subdials.3559/

I'm surprised "rare" was not included in the description!

For those of you interested in ranging Tri-Compax prices, here's an early one in straight auction which ends tomorrow. The dial is somewhat grotty condition but the case and movement are in good shape, and it is a 37mm watch - slightly larger than average (note the enlarged movement footprint). It appears to me to be complete and original.

$2256 - I'd say someone got a very nice deal. The dial detracts, to be sure, but the larger diameter is a plus, and the movement looks pretty darned clean.

Must be Small Universal Week...

32mm 14k gold Compax looks completely correct, reasonable condition although the case has had a polish or three. I hope he hasn't got the reserve too high, as a 32mm watch is not going to sell for anything close to 35mm or larger.

A 32.5mm Girard Perregaux two dialer. GP was one of the many manufactures that used UG as its chronograph supplier, including Eberhard, Jaeger LeCoultre, Vacheron & Constantin, and Zenith. In GP's case, they received completely assembled pieces from UG with GP branding, and marketed them under their name. On this one (if it were a UG, it would have been a Uni-Compax), the case is in excellent shape, dial has seen better days but is acceptable (to me), and hands have been relumed.

Apparently International Dial has many of the original dies for UG. At one time, they did the work for UG and they companies were right across the street from each other in NY.
