Really no more sleepers in 2023. This very interesting pocket chrono…

I’m delighted to say that this basket case piece found its way to me via all sorts of shenanigans in the UG backwaters.

It has taken a long while to get her running when others before me had given up. The strange things we do for these little machines….

Wow! Beautiful piece! What was the issue with servicing it?

clear back cal 285--fits perfectly I believe it is as originally mounted (check screws)
maybe a salesman sample?
runs and functions crisply

That’s cool !
No idea on originality, but the hands all look wrong?

I've thought about that as well (wrong hands) but they do very convincingly match both the dial luminous wrt color and patina.

Yes, hands look wrong. The hour and minute could theoretically be “original”, but they do not match. So only one of them “could” be original…
Subdial and chrono hands are not original.

To me the watch seems more like being a normal wristwatch with lugs removed and caseback replaced by plexi… But who knows… an interesting example.

But the Compax (on the right in the first picture) looks good!! Just wrong crown probably...
(the "undeclared" Compur is a redial unfortunately)

Bought this one. Very nice inscription. Movement should be a 290 but I can't open it ;-(
