@Slevin kelevra i believe that strap is the original Seiko rubber strap that came with it.

Thanks for the response!

Do you have any pics of the back of the watch ? Or does the strap have a reference/model number on it ?

Its locked up in the vault at present. As soon as I go for a rotation I’ll snap some pics … but here is one I have on record.

At least some of the SAAF Seiko 7A28s were issued with a Seiko SQ stainless steel bracelet, just like the civilian version. Mine came with that bracelet, as well as a very thin nylon strap (it has to be thin to fit between the lugs and the case) which appears to have been made out of some sort of military webbing material.

Managed to find a strap which mimics the SAAF look. Was really struggling to find a rubber strap that was thin enough to fit the short lugs of the 7a28 case. This is a Casio strap of all things !

Apologies for cluttering up the thread but if you squint you can just about spot an issued Seiko, just not from the SAAF ;-)

Lemania Chronograph 5012 SAAF South African Airforce . A pretty good example just finished at Eric Ku's Loupe This Auction. US$ 6500 plus 10% for the Auction. That was a good price for a good Example. I hope, somebody here bought it. Kind regards. Achim

For interest a few pics of the SAAF with its Lemania World Time brother and a slightly pared down Heuer that uses the same basic case:
