Same recent visit with @dandywatchman that I recently posted about in the “Let’s See your Tri-Compax” thread. But here are our two Universal Geneve Pocket Compax Chronographs from the 1940s. Considering that a couple hundred of these might have ever been produced, at most, it was such a treat to get them side by side. His is the steel one. Mine the 14k gold.

Two incredible rare specimens there, bravo! I love the 'dummy' subdial on these and the harmony it brings to the overall design. So UG.

Tank number suggests close to 300

Well, it moved from a fellow member’s pocket in Australia to my pocket in Philadelphia, but couldn’t be happier to have “picked this pocket” (on friendly terms, of course!) from half way across the globe! Love the simplicity, but also the applied Arabic numerals and funky font…as well as the pop of blued steel in the subdial! Vintage Universal Geneve is the best!

Another one emerged: https://www.lorologiese.com/en/home...50-pocket-watch-1944-chronograph-cal-292.html

I now have the records on 7 of them. Tank number on serial suggests 194 made and on movement 220 so it is fair to assume that 200 of them will have been made. Lowest serial is 1.072.660. I have a normal watch on record with 1.072.649 so I assume that the serials will have ran from 1.072.650/660 to 1.072.850/860. Highest number I have is 806. I have 5 different references on record (and 1 which is not mentioned and which may be #6) so the individual batches may be 25-50 pieces each....

Always love to see these pop up. The 1072660 is mine, and good to be reminded that it’s among the earliest known examples. My good friend @MattF has an even more robust listing of these special pieces - and owns another spectacular one, in steel. So cool!

Just a fun shot of these two beauties together. Simplicity and Complexity…both so satisfyingly and classically UG.
