Hi friends

I currently have a 41mm SMP and 42mm PO and may add a new piece to the collection… I am really torn between these two.. both are mint.. both are beautiful…
Aqua Terra white face
Speedmaster Professional

I know it is pure personal preference but just want to see how others see these two..

Both are pre-owned by the way

Speedy by a mile. Can’t stand the date window position on the other one. I’d prefer it at 6 pm instead. Then, maybe…

I'm going for the unpopular choice; the chronograph.

That Speedy is a sapphire sandwich. Take a look at a Hesalite version. I have both flavours and see the pluses that model brings but like the Porsche 911, the base model is often best with the Speedy.

I have an AT too but you shouldn’t.

Speedmaster as a first watch for any space fan.
Then all the other Omegas enhance your collection.

No offense to any owners, but I don't find the white one appealing at all. With respect to the Speedmaster, maybe you can find one without that funny white ring around the dial.

I own both of these (though my AT has a framed date window). The AT is way more versatile given that it is an automatic, and water resistant. However, the Speedy is my favorite watch in my collection and it is not even close. So, I’ll add my voice to the chorus voting Speedy. Go for the hesalite version though.

Well I agree that AT is not the best looking AT and the Speedy at least looks better… However and to be honest, surprisingly the Speedy didn’t take my breath when I put it on the way I felt when I tried the SMP or PO on my wrist.. additionally, the manual winding thing really bugs me… The Speedmaster is an iconic watch no doubt but may be not for me !

I believe I will hold any purchase till I fall in love with one !

Speedy would be the play of those two but yea there are nicer AT variants than that one also. The Seamaster Pro 300M is a great watch to consider too if you’re after something more durable and diving oriented.

Unless you really like white dial, I suggest a bit patient and wait for AT blue or green dial (the green is absolute gorgeous).
if white is your forte then just get it.

As for speedy ... you can buy anytime you want as long as budget allowed.
so many pre-owned standard out there with no significant mark up. (LE would be different story)

Would like to see some photoshopped one with the date at 6....
