Hi, folks-- I've got two decent options in front of me for an a3630. Each have their pluses and minuses. What are you thoughts?

Option 1 (217DXXX serial)
Good case, dial and bezel
Relumed hour hand
Possibly incorrect crown
Less common dial/bezel combination (unclear if this is incorrect or just less common)
Not the most attractive lume plots

Option 2 (723DXXX serial)
Great case, dial and bezel (scratches appear to be on the crystal but I am receiving shots outside the glass soon to confirm)
Incorrect handset
Not the most attractive lume plots
Currently about $700 usd higher ask (but assuming some negotiation possible)

Please explain.

What are the asking prices?

My understanding is that the "fat font" bezel is more commonly associated with the black-trimmed date window dial. Not sure this is a very widely agreed upon understanding, though.

Price on Option 1 is $4000usd firm. Price on option 2 is $4500 asking.

Oops I believe I meant the other way around: "fat font" bezel possibly more common on the non-black-trimmed date window dials....

Case of the second is so much better, new old stock looking.

Dial on both is comparable enough.

The steel hands are very hard to come by.

As price is in same ballpark, it's a toss up do you want mint case with black hands or slightly more yellow dial lume and steel hands.

Yes that's the question!

I don't mind the look of the black hands but would prefer they were steel...

It's a complete personal preference on these.

If you're not sure about either then wait for another to come up.

The second one looks better to me, but hands are really difficoult to find.
Easier to find the crown for the first

I'd choose the first one. Cheaper and better looking imho.

I think I like the first one more overall--just has a warmer glow. But the case on the second is incredible.... Argh!

Not sure what is going on there at the date window 4 oclock side...? Don't recall seeing that before on these.

I think that dial is fine. mainly I found 2 types of dial, the one with the all black window and the one with the half white and half black window. those of the second type often have different internal parts, sometimes linear and sometimes with an angle. I think it depends on the different dial manufacturers they relied on

Dial appears correct. Just not the condition one would expect given the case is nos.

What’s odd is the angle AND the line—that I have not seen before.

Agreed. This dial just isn’t that appealing in that end, with the dark line plots etc. it’s really all about the case on this one.
