Help me decide between these 2 POs!

Hey guys, Im deciding between a 39.5mm PO blue dial steel bracelet and a 42mm PO blue dial titanium bracelet. I don’t have a way of wearing these watches in person before purchasing.

Ref numbers are 215.30.40.20.03.001 and 232.90.42.21.03.001

I can get either watch for the same price, so the titanium typically costing more is not a factor here.

My question is does the titanium bracelet not look as good as the steel bracelet and is the 42mm and extra thickness of the 8500 vs 8800 going to be too big for my ~6.75in wrist.

Basically, which of the 2 would you purchase if you had your choice

Hmm. Can‘t help you there. I like the titanium one from a design perspective. A picture might help.

I'd definitely go with the 39.5. I have the same size wrist as you and my black 39.5mm is absolutely perfect. It's pretty chunky, thickness-wise, so I wouldn't want the extra height of the 42mm (let alone the extra width). Some pics for reference:

Personally, I preferred the larger model as it felt more comfortable to me. If there is a drawback, it is that now after years of wearing 45.5mm PO 600M Chrono and 44MM Diver 300M Chrono, some of my earlier watches feel a bit too light.

I know your comment is about your earlier watches but this got me thinking. As a machinist I work with all kinds of materials and titanium is noticeably lighter compared to S.S. I'm very curious what the weight diffrence is between the 2 watches the OP is comparing. Weight is not part of omegas specs as far as I know but i wouldnt be too surprised if they are close to the same or even if the 39.5 is heavier.

39.5 would probably suit you better given your wrist size .

    Go big or go home!

    Just kidding ;).
You can’t go wrong with any of the two.
    Both great choices.
And if you still hesitate, follow your your first preference.

I prefer the 39.5 due to smaller size and the extra orange text. Also has the additional bonus for some (though not me so much) of master chronometer rating. But the Ti bracelet on the 42 is nice.

If, as you say is the case, you are not able to try them on before purchase, then I’d go with the 39.5 for sure. But personally, I would never buy a modern watch without trying it on first...seeing a photo of a watch versus seeing it in the metal are two completely different animals IMO. It’s unfortunate if you don’t have the opportunity.

Weight is only noticeable the first few times you wear it. Honestly it’s not an issue. It is odd to think of an SKX as light though.... ask me how I know.
