There are only 300 true Mitsukoshi's out there and you usually only see one come up every year or so... was lucky enough to snag one.

Was the 27k for both sizes? They came as 37mm and 40mm, in the much more common quartz models there are a lot more mid size than full so your full size auto may be rarer still. Here's mine, in good nick apart from the bezel:

Donno... On the 27k #, buy I agree the 37mm is more often seen of those sizes

I think the snoopy will be a money maker in the future. Thats the only thing i really see as making big bucks in the future. also I think the 2254 will also increase its value.

The dial can be purchased relatively easy online; probably my dial of choice on a mod FOIS

As badly as I want to say the Speedyorite... its got to be the Silver Snoopy based on crazy demand and selling out 6+ months in advance.

The most collectible modern Omega watch is
... yet to come;
Some ideas:
1978-2018 = 40 years Alaska III
a great opportunity to bring out a historic correct neo-vintage black radial dial Speedmaster to commemorate the Space Shuttle program
1968-2018 = 50 years Apollo VIII
Fingers crossed... There'll be a manned spacecraft around the Moon in December 2018, commemorating Apollo 8
1969-2019 = 50 years Apollo XI
we've discussed this before and a simple black dial Speedmaster seemed the favorite, with any commemorative logos at the caseback 馃榿

Hey,

If we talk about LE I'd go with the Apollo-Soyuz 35th (I'll own one someday) then the Gemini IV and then the silver snoopy.

If we rule out LE, I'd go with the DSOTM for the use of ceramic.

IMHO if we go by (1) the number of watches currently offered for sale and (2) their asking prices relative to their original MSRPs:

1. Gemini IV
2. Apollo 11 35th
3. Silver Snoopy

If we add 2 more to that list even though they may not be among the most collectible - CK2998 and Apollo 17 45th -, we'll have the LE Speedmaster Collection that pays tributes to the most significant events of the Moon Landing program:

1. First Omega in Space - CK2998
2. First Omega in EVA - Gemini IV
3. First Omega on the Moon - Apollo 11 35th
4. First Omega with NASA's Snoopy Award - Apollo 13
5. Last Omega on the Moon - Apollo 17th 45th.

And that would be my dream (non vintage) LE Speedy Lunar Collection.

My favourite of the Apollo 17 LEs is actually the most subtle one and the cheapest, the 3574.51.

Obviously, I agree with the Meteorite being in there 馃憤

What about the Mitsukoshi? Do they ever come up for sale?

I'd love for that to happen, but that's only 17 months away. At best, SpaceX's unmanned demonstration might be ready by then.

I think the Speedy Tin Tin will be very collectable at some point.

Same here! Though it would be nice if they would stop appearing in more numbers, seemingly in LNIB condition::facepalm1::
