Since many of us are more or less experiencing home confinement, I thought that it might be an interesting exercise to compile a list of what OF members consider to be the most collectible Omega watches. No hard and fast rules, but at a minimum try to list the year, model and reference. Photos would be great! Additional comments on your choices are welcome. I don’t think we have a thread like this (at least I couldn’t find one), but if we do, please let me know. So I’ll start with the holy trinity:

    1957 Seamaster 300, Ref. CK2913
    1957 Railmaster, Ref. CK2914
    1957 Speedmaster, Ref. CK2915

    And we’re off ...

I'm not sure, if all of them are really collectible, but they are all rare at least...:

1986 Speedmaster Titanium Moonphase, Ref. TI 345.0810, cal. 866.
    1986 Speedmaster Titanium/Gold Moonphase, Ref. TA 345.0810, cal. 866

Any of the jumbo time-only dress watches from the late 30’s to the 50’s.

    Any 33.3 caliber chronographs.

    My votes go to:

    1) 1970s Speedsonic F300 Lobster bracelet. A very funky watch and amazing chrono strapped to a tuning fork movement. Finding a good one is tough because the unique mirror finish dial is prone to cracking from moisture.

    2) 1970s Electroquartz Beta 21. The solid gold models are scarce/rare.

    3) 1970s Megaquartz 2.4mhz Stardust aventurine dial. Stunningly beautiful and easily damaged dial makes it desirable. The solid gold version is especially rare. Incredible accuracy thats best left explained by the experts: www.omegamegaquartz.com

Great idea. Here’s my 1962 Constellation Gold Cap crosshair dial, reference 14900 61SC. About as minty as they come!

Eye candy. Louis Brandt grade CCR of which I have two. These were railroad approved in Canada, along with Longines and Zenith. @UncleBuck might be referring to the Omega prestige Louis Brandt line. I don’t have one of those. The Brandt in the nickel case is a private label watch from Greenwood, Bristish Columbia, and has A Logan on the dial. The one in the gold coloured case is the same grade CCR, but the dial is marked Louis Brandt & freres. 7BC6B670-BCD7-483C-B058-050BB4044038.jpeg 45E110E7-7708-4E86-AFF8-C08A645244E0.jpeg 66ACE10C-5094-4509-9713-66898AF65D9D.jpeg

If the lume on this watch is still 1945, then that's Radium w/ 1600 year half-life period, that means almost all there...

Understand but restored as you see.
Old lume removed from plots/hands reconditioned. Relumed. Caliber serviced and cleaned. (Runs within original MOD specs.)

On remaining radioactivity and Radon-not tested yet. Suspect it will be low but proper Geiger counters are rather expensive. Not a daily wear.

Please see MWR for erudite radiation review.
