Thanks for opinion. Seller sent me a video of the watch in good light which I think gives a truer picture of the condition. Dial spots don't look to be an issue rather scratches in plexi.
Are you after a gold cap case specifically? I would be skeptical of the service and the warranty, as it's only 6 months and doesn't cover parts.

Looking at both 18k and gold cap. Not overly worried about service/warranty if it runs. If not running to best of abilities I can service and try and regulate it or have a more experienced hand I know do it depending on what I find.

The price is just incredible, I think I paid $1400 for one of my gold coated ones and considered it a very very good find!

But keep in mind that this dial is flawed, the Constellation's has a broken paint at one place

Good eye! But still hugely wearable for the lucky winner. I've never seen a red one, and I think it works beautifully.

What do you guys think of this one? Looks pretty mint to me. My jaw dropped a bit. I wish I could have that bracelet.

Looks pretty good, I personally don't like 168.027 linen dials too much, much shinier than 168.017 ones

I've been checking rare C-Case's I have, and as a bit of a C-Case information, I couldn't find any correlations serial-wise, so there's no Ultraman ranges as far as C-Case's are concerned

The only thing I haven't seen is a 561 168.027 I guess, otherwise they all blur together

So I think everything looks fine. If you don't want to buy it, let me know. ;-)

Sealed the deal today @Lachgas but if I sell in the the future I'll let you know. Might post some better quality pics when it arrives and I can have a dog around.

What a shame that this was relumed like this, I really want one of these US market dials

I'm assuming it'd be too delicate an operation to de-lume then? Or more likely would involve too much risk?

I don't think it's possible, maybe a chemistry/materials master could do it, but even with the right solvent, gotta re-do the lacquer, and at that point it's kind of a redial

Never seen one of these transitional dials in grey sunburst, it's a 751. cal - rough condition and quite possible dial damage, otherwise could've been a collection item

Unique as if it's legit, it's the only 751 C-Case dial with a day and date separator as well

Edit: Also nice to see a pivoted seconds hand on a C-Case, I think this one is original to the watch

Thought I'd post a little update as I received my watch yesterday and got to give it a good look over.

Having seen in person, I don't think anything had tried to be deliberately hidden by photos. As suspected most of the anomalies showing in the photos were scratches on the plexi which were easily buffed out though a couple spots are in fact on dial.

The braclet needed a deep deep clean as it had seized up on the short side, but after a good stint in the ultrasonic and with the help of compressed air it was came out great. Moves freely now and very little play for a bracelet of its age. Resized it and applied a light brushed finish. The case itself also got a very light polish and brushing and though far from perfect really gives the watch a new lease of life.

Internally it was in excellent condition save that the pivot on the stem had broken (however quickset date still works fine). Crown gasket had turned to black mush so will look to replace crown and stem. @kaplan is it the 42054 crown I'm looking for?

Watch running well within tolerances for vintage omega which is testament to the quality of the 500 series movements.

Nice bonus is that the watch came with some original papers (guarantee booklet) which was not specified in the ad.

Overall very happy with my new 168.027. View attachment 1607552 View attachment 1607554 View attachment 1607558

Yes 42054 - available on eBay, from my favourite seller mikeswatchparts

Did you scotch-brite the case as well, looks like a scotch-brite pattern 😀 On the left-bottom lug 2 angles are merging, looks great though overall

Nice acquisition!

Edit: You could just restore the crown gasket as well, I did it once on the earlier crown, don't have the dimensions for 42054 yet https://omegaforums.net/threads/my-first-crown-restoration-and-o-ring-insertion.156289/

Thanks for recommendation.

Case finished with a blue Garryflex abrasive block. Yeah, angles aren't the best but good enough and weren't great to begin with.

Nice acquisition!

Cheers!

Actually had seen your post on the crown refurb and am considering it depending on parts availability..
