Thanks for the info, I'm continually testing new abrasive products, newer used a block so it piqued my interest, pretty interesting that 60 grit can do that, appears finer - mainly interested as I have one polished watch, it turns out Fellows predominantly sells polished watches

Do you work on the watch yourself by the way?

Had an 'old hand' who's far more experienced than I do the work but under my supervision (if you can even call it that). Have another 564 coming that's in far worse condition that I'll play around with myself but wouldn't trust myself with the nice one just yet.

You can actually cut the Garryflex to give you a thin sharp wedge that'll help get right in the corner of the bezel as you spin the case.

Looks great @mmurran! Nice job. Do you have any resources for learning about re-brushing? I see you mentioned a couple of products that I’ll look into. I’m asking because I have a full brushed bracelet that is very scratched and I’d like to get it refinished. If it’s not a hard DIY job that would be cool.

Thanks @Aroxx. I am by no means a polisher though I did come across this guide which I think is instructive. (https://www.great-british-watch.co.uk/how-to-polish-a-watch-case-and-bracelet/).

Here's my newest, Not sure the bracelet's correct?

Open to correction, but I think that if it came with a bracelet originally, it should have come with the 1040 with 518 endlinks. Is it omega marked?

No, uncommon, but these are quite regularly matched with 77 endlinks in the US - bracelet is 1125-like, pinned instead of screwed, regularly Omega marked but not code stamped

I was so on the fence, but really glad I got this one, such a special watch and since I’m in software engineering as well, very meaningful

Perfect dial and case tops it off

Also I’ve over compensated a while ago with GP bracelets and it’ll be nice to use one of the extras, for a while, like 3-4 months, there was no GP bracelet on the market, lately they’ve been easier to buy than steel ones

Congratulations!
A personal connection to the watch is always something special.

The lug marks on the front made me smile, I was hesitant about removing the crystal to clean the case but relaxed after seeing the marks - it’s soo stressful handling pristine watches

From the stripped indice paint, this is someone's creation, but he did well, very well!

I had never seen a gold crystal armor ring on a steel C-Case, and it's just awesome - normally gold dials on steel watches have steel armor rings, mainly UK watches

Here are some tidbits of information:

1) Some old 561 movements have lower stem tolerances and don't accept modern stems
2) Some cases have shorter tubes mounted for older crowns
3) Some cases have narrower crown area wall widths (!)

[3] is a major discovery for today while [1] and [2] are regular differences

I don't have the attention span these days to see whether there is a pattern but I will do the research in the future and publish it with dimensions and photos

Its a shame about the dial and hands but will be interesting to see what this white gold one goes for later today

An account with 4 reviews, all of which are as a buyer, and located in the Ukraine means the result will probably not really be representative of the market...

No doubt, its a parts watch regardless too

I actually have a sniper bid for this one, but thinking of just cancelling it

I sent a message to the seller but didn't get a reply, just sent another one but I doubt I'll get a reply, those 4 feedback are all as a buyer as well

Otherwise seems like a nice watch but I think the buckle itself is a steel replacement to an otherwise WG bracelet

Hey everyone,
what do you think of this offer from Conny?

Few pictures. At least quick answers. Inland.

Is about 30 seconds later = new service due.

Otherwise no story about it.

I like the rippled bezel, as you may remember. ;-)

Is everything original?

The price seems fair to me even with a service.

Thank you for your opinions.

Looked bad to me, polished shiny case and possible dial issues
