I'm debating between these two -
https://www.chrono24.com/omega/omega--cal564--168027--714819--id27884112.htm
https://www.chrono24.com/omega/omega--yg-cal751-ref168029--715884--id27883634.htm

Do these look okay? The main thing that bothers me is that the crowns don't look right for neither the 168.027 nor 168.029.

An alternative to the two above is this one -

All of these watches are being sold by Closer (closer0924 on eBay). Look into it, but it may be cheaper to buy from them on eBay. I'm not sure. I do know that Chrono24 for example will bill you from Germany for their escrow service so if your credit card charges foreign transaction fees you'll get dinged for those. Guess how I know about that. 馃榾

It looks like the crystal is cracked on the second one. Something weird going on there. Not the end of the world. Also this one is a day/date. I personally prefer just the date.

The third one is my favorite dial if you're into the gold and it's a cal 564 date only. Also, for the same price as the others you get the bracelet. The "Constellation" text looks a bit bold but I've noticed that a lot on other examples as well. I'm actually trying to gather more examples of that.

Second Edit: Just noticed it has no "T"s around Swiss made but it has lume. I think that's weird for a 1970's watch.

I was just thinking about that recently, convincing C-Case redials are rarer than C-Case rares, they are all unique variations. My assumption is that they never ran a C-Case dial again, so typography morphed quite a bit as variations went on

Hello @all. I'm the new one. 馃榾

Then I'll do the critical spoilsport as an entry into the forum:

Japan is far away. In case something should happen.

3 watches for the exact same price?
2 have a rippled bezel. And one even a 1040 bracelet - very rare as I know from my own experience.

Not all of them are really cheap if you factor in a service and some gears would have to be replaced.

I had with each of my Connys!
___

I apologize for the Google translation errors.

My little Conny-collection - 3 x Constellation with rippled bezel and 1040 bracelet. All in chronometer standard. 馃榾

Yesterday the missing golden end links arrived from Omega - unfortunately the color doesn't really match!

Looked flawless to me at a quick glance, crystal is probably original as well but can't see the Omega sign clearly

Maybe make sure these spots aren't on the dial:

Sorry for the question. But have you had positive experiences with Japan?

Thanks for quick reply @kaplan. Glad to have my thoughts confirmed. I'll ask about etching.

Re 'the spots' do you mean to confirm they are a photo artefact rather than signs of water damage or the like. If they exist on the dial I don't think they'd be bad enough to put me off. Same goes re original. crystal

I have not bought anything from Japan myself but anecdotally others I know who have with other brands have no problems. Some greats finds coming out of Japan.

Dial spots are a major issue but indeed the best watches are from Japan

Hi all,

Was hoping to pick your collective brains on this piece which I've been offered. Movement looks tidy and other than the slightly larger case bevels looks in good knick.

https://chrono24.app/omega/omega-co...?checkoutId=6723516?SETLANG=en_IE&SETCURR=EUR

Cheers

Here鈥檚 my critical take. I don鈥檛 like how the images are very well staged and lots of angles yet very low resolution and over exposed which is good to hide things. I would want higher rez better pictures of the dial at least. The case looks pretty sharp but maybe saw a bit of polishing. Maybe that鈥檚 just because gold cap is a bit softer. I don鈥檛 know.

Picture is so washed out it鈥檚 hard to see the dial. Spots could be on the crystal but who knows?

Bracelet is showing its age.

Description says caseback is engraved but I don鈥檛 see it. Maybe a copy and paste error on the listing. Why no straight on shot? Medallion looks a bit soft. I think this whole watch got a light polish.

I鈥檓 nit picking as we do. It looks like a nice watch. What鈥檚 the price offered if you don鈥檛 mind? Listing price is too high as is normal on C24.

Questions are why we鈥檙e all here. To help each other out. 馃榾 I鈥檝e bought one watch from Japan at auction via a third party bidding service and it went very smoothly. Fast shipping and no import duty luckily. Would not hesitate to buy from Japan again. I know others here have similar experiences. Apparently all the watches are in Japan so it鈥檚 hard to avoid.

For the uninformed, are dial spots a major issue in that they have the potential to get worse?

I had previously asked for case back pics see attached and they look good to me. Price not much under 1k拢 but I'm happy to pay a premium for the right watch as stalking ebay and online auctions is a time drain.

Thanks. Medallion looks much better. Good example of how the over exposed pics hide things. Makes me wonder what else is hiding. Overall, I think it could be a good buy but yes at a premium. I would want a better dial picture though.

Also, my apologies if you already know this but keep an eye on bracelet size for Japanese watches. They tend to be small and missing links. This one looks like it has 3 and 1 removable links on it which is pretty good. @kaplan I鈥檝e been wondering this. Is a full size bracelet 3 removables on both sides?

Purchased this one blindly a while ago, seller indicated it鈥檚 a redial, I acted fast and took a big chance, the price was low but still it was a risk

Before some love:

After:

Also a delayed thanks to @flqt-9000 for proxying the WG bezel version for me months ago, Italy has been such an awesome country this year for irregular finds:

If anyone is interested, I鈥檒l soon put my rarest ladies C-Case on the market to clear funds, just waiting the NOS crystal I bought for it:

I鈥檓 in full agreement with you about the quality of the photos that many sellers post, not just in Japan, but I鈥檓 not happy with the quality of these.

Thanks for opinion. Seller sent me a video of the watch in good light which I think gives a truer picture of the condition. Dial spots don't look to be an issue rather scratches in plexi.

So I think everything looks fine. If you don't want to buy it, let me know. ;-)
