Everyday wear + waterproof don't mix well with vintage imho. Easy and cheap to service may be difficult with a modern coaxial.

Why not a 36mm SM300 midsize? Discontinued but not too old. If properly serviced could be seriously waterproof. And if you buy wisely you may squeeze a vintage dress omega in your budget. Like a Seamaster DeVille from the 60s.

Here is what I'm talking about, pics from google:

EDIT: @connieseamaster is that a Nikkor 50 1.8 and 135mm film I just spotted? 馃槈

There have been a lot of selections better than this - but it is a very open question and depends on the persons style etc.
The vintage Dynamic wins for me - or a nice vintage constellation.

But how about = https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/speedmaster/speedmaster-38-mm/the-collection/product
.

Like I say .. or a nice vintage constellation. But my wife and I are not so young or Kick ass these days...She would say I am more saggy a** as I don't work out as much as she does :0)

You said vintage or new, how about a 36mm Aqua Terra? Waterproof, in the Seamaster line, and sweet looking IMO.

Also Elon Musk wears an aqua terra - not a bad recommendation....

I accidentally bought the strap key for the ladies dynamic. I suppose I should buy the ladies version of the watch so I have some use for it
I'm also happy to take it off your hands

Not an Omega but I like 50s and older American watches, like this 1948 Hamilton Turner I'm wearing today. If you have your heart set on an Omega I'd look at 50s and 60s Constellations and Seamasters.

All manual winders, pre-Swatch, all 14-karat gold (not the bracelets), all from late 1950s to mid-1960s, and all bought for scrap gold price. My wife鈥檚 favourite watch is the round Sapphette with the faceted synthetic sapphire crystal that is tinted pastel blue.
My wife has an appreciation of cocktail watches as well.

It would help narrow the field if you can suggest:

1) case size? (range is ok)
2) case material?
3) complications? (Date, chrono, etc)

It depends on said young woman's style. If it's more jeans than skirts I'd suggest something like this on a colourful NATO strap.

a speedie reduced looks cool on a lady but even that is a touch big.>

Listen mate, what you need is a bigger Woman, not a weedy watch. Get yourself a lady who can dig holes, carry bricks up a ladder and kick the crap out of a mugger!

She would happily wear a full size Omega Speedmaster Professional 105.012-65... and if you tried to steal it, she would pull ya fakkinn head off!馃槻
