It's gonna be a .. damn long wait for that SS GMT.

Yep. I have worked my considerable resources all morning. They essentially told me to pound sand. Guess I will get one in 2-3 years. Already waited 11 since the GMTC came out.

the Tudor looks great. All red GMT hand 馃槻

I鈥檝e already put my deposit down for one of these, it seems like a bargain to me.

The Pepsi and jubilee are a classic combo and look great together. I wish the red was deeper, but I suppose they are going for a more vintage look? That Tudor looks spectacular.

Interesting that the bracelet can't be swapped out. I was wondering how they would stop people from just putting an oyster bracelet on there.

Did anyone see the thickness of the 39mm blackbay? If it isn't super thick it could be a winner.

The new movement (reduced size - MT5402) in it is 1,4 thinner, so I guess the case is also not as thick as the 41 mm one.

Think I saw 11mm on one of the Hodinkee articles

11.9mm per James Stacey on Hodinkee.

I read 12.7 on TRF

I'm inclined to believe James over TRF. Knowing him I'm sure he came to Basel armed with calipers. 馃槣

I do not dig the colours of the cerachrom bezel... at all!! Tudor BB GMT is a winner but with the to me huge lug to lug length of 50mm it is too big for my taste. Solution: the 16710

The more I look at the new GMT 2, the more I realise how absolute dog shit the maxi case is. So over blown, clumsy and in your face. It just makes me want a 16710.

Thank goodness for the Explorer.

I agree completely. After seeing the photos from the release today I glanced down at my 14060m and thought what perfect watch that is.

It's the only watch that I really would like to own from the few things I've seen from basel

Agree. Is there any more info on the bracelet? Could you put a strap on it? I鈥檓 assuming a strap would work. I respect the jubilee but I much prefer the oyster.

I have to admit that this looks incredible. One wonders if Rolex is going to pull the same stunt this year that they did and continue to do with the SS Daytona, though... I love it but I'm not willing to endure an undefined amount of time on a waiting list for it.

I've been on the white dial ceramic Daytona wait list for TWO YEARS and I'd rather have this one, but I'm not f'ing happy about moving my name to another list just to wait another two f'ing years! I got on as #1 at one local Rolex AD and with 19 stores they haven't gotten one for me yet (because I don't spend enough with them). I've been on the other AD list maybe as #10, and they've only received 2 last year and 1 this year.

I know Rolex is gonna play the same bullshit games with this one too. I don't even know why I still care about them.

Odd choice if you can鈥檛 swap the bracelet. Is it permanently fixed?

Doesn鈥檛 look like it. I think they just modified the case shape so that Oyster bracelets don鈥檛 fit.

I've wanted to get an Everest curved leather strap for my modern Explorer II since I got it 2 years ago. I have several aftermarket rubber/leather straps that 'fit' between the lugs but I prefer a curved strap that closes the gaps. The Everest website shows 16 different watches they have custom straps for and not one of them fits my watch (I contacted them to confirm...).
