A buddy of mine got this, so please don’t ^^
Will report here if everything concludes well, but given the amount of honesty in ebay sellers and buyers these days...

Okay, as expected, the deal fell through. The way it fell through is quite peculiar though. The whole story:
After seeing the watch posted in this topic, my buddy contacted me to arrange the buy-it-now (he doesn’t have ebay or paypal himself, he is sort off a collector beginner).
I agreed, pressed the button, and sent the seller a message asking for the shipping to Belgium.

Eventually, I got the total invoice, and paid immediately. Paypal said the amount was unclaimed, and it quickly became clear that the seller email was @yahoo instead of @gmail, so I cancelled the paypal payment (which is annoying as is given that it will appear pending for a while before showing up in my paypal balance), and sent the seller a message stating that ebay now considers the invoice as paid, and the only way to move forward is to cancel the first ebay deal after which the seller should relist (with correct paypal linked).

As you can imagine by now, the cancellation took minutes, but I waited more than an hour on that relist. When sending a message to ask what was going on, the seller stated that he now wanted more money. He saw I hit the buy it now button within the hour of listing, and he noticed I was now already messaging for the relist, and for him this added up to the item being worth more than in the initial sale.

For me and my buddy, it ended there. I left the guy a negative feedback, and I saw this morning that the watch is relisted for 550 (or best offer). Just a heads up for people with genuine interest, I would not trust this guy.

I’ve just offered him £400... we should all do the same 😀 if he accepts, and I get it, I’ll sell it back to you 😀

I’m wondering how long the negative feedback will stick, as ebay seems to delete without consulting on first complaint from seller side..
Is this your experience as well?

Not in the best of conditions, but cheap - hopefully the case isn't too bad:

Dial looks great.

Redial? "Seamaster" is not flush with "officially".

It seems to fall halfway down a hill before recovering. Which is odd, because otherwise the dial looks spot on.

While it isn't very attractive, I believe it has been discussed here on OF previously; variants of the crooked Seamaster are fairly well known, IIRC.

I think it is a tad crooked but I think the angles of the hands, crosshairs, etc exacerbate the effect. Not a redial imo.

That looks very nice.

$4k nice?
Bidding was at a fair $1700 and then jumped at the end.

Seriously, $4k? I've drunk shopped before but this is a Doozie! (Doozie, an American term derived from the classic car, Deusenberg, meaning extreme or tops!)
