Why that watch went so high is beyond me, even if it's a 343 (and it's probably a 344). Irrespective of that, this subforum is visible to anyone with an Internet connection and is a gift for anyone wanting a particular Omega model who can't be bothered to do the research. After all, why bother with that tedious work when others will do it for you! I have no doubt that hundreds if not thousands of non-members or passive members watch avidly for that very reason. Is it really surprising when these listings take off? Anything half-decent obscured by bad photos, a poor description or mislisting that gets posted here is instantly public knowledge, and the studious collector who'd put in the hours and the effort to spot it is denied their reward.

That's why I've more or less given up posting in here, despite regularly seeing potential bargains. I wonder how many members have muttered under their breath, F*** it, there go my chances of getting THAT! [I haven't - but I've been lucky.] We are spoonfeeding the general public here and there is an argument for limiting this forum to OF members with, say, a 50 post count.

Hell, I'd be happy with limiting it to new members who know what "NOT for Inquiries" means.

A very good point made by Edward above, I wonder if this thread or one very like it wouldn't be better placed behind the same firewall, for want of a better description as the normal For Sale and WTB sub forums.

50 posts seems a little high. How about 26 posts? I would like to thank ConElPueblo for his generous recommendation 2 years ago. I love my 59 Seamaster Calendar.

Condition 👍

Yup. That case looked amazing, as did the dial. Well worth the asking price, IMO. I'd like to see the chronometer @got to many got last year for 1K.

I don't think anyone was factoring in anything +/- for the bracelet, that watch would have sold quickly at that price if it was head-only.

Holy S...!!!

That dial is wicked. Looks new!

- what does the 352 mean on the caseback?
- the dial is different from others I've seen: the white background almost looks translucent, and the hour markers are also different. Anyone care comment? Do others exist?

The number in the hammerhead is the case maker; here it's Serva SA.

The dial looks that way because it is in extremely well preserved condition. I see nothing odd about the markers, they are a pretty common variant.
