·Or you could just stop flailing your arms around, banging the watch into door jambs and concrete walls, that will cut down on having to polish scratches out.

·Pro- hobbiest tip:
Use 2” blue painters tape and place it directly over the top of the watch. Use your fingernail (or toothpick) to score around the crystal at the bezel. Tuck scored edge down around the base of the bezel. Peel off center round. This will allow you for get as zealous as you want with polishing along the sides of the crystal without fear of rubbing the bezel. Use this for all watches, not just diver/chrono type bezels to avoid making a brushed bezel shiny,

·I have successfully used a loose fabric dremel buffing wheel with jeweler's rouge to polish the crystal on an old Timex I bought for $10. This before I knew better, but it worked beautifully and took about 10 seconds. I think the trick was to use very light pressure and keep the wheel moving. Try it at your own risk, I have not done this myself since.

·I'm surprised no one has mentioned Crystal Bright yet---so I will. Used with a soft cotton buffing wheel, moderate pressure will take out fairly deep gouges and light pressure will leave a perfect no-haze polish. I have a bar I've been using for 10 years and there's about 75% left.

·I never use a dremel on an acrylic crystal. If there are deep scratches I just use various grades of sandpaper by hand and finish with novus or poly watch. All by hand.
