How far does one go with this though? Sitting and sorting through those hands will take several days, then measuring diameters/lengths etc to determine caliber will take even longer.
If someone is local to you and can spend a day picking out any really valuable items, such as the 2998 case, then great, but anymore than that and I feel into a significant undertaking.
I still think putting them together in manageable lots (for example split the hands in the pictures above into say 4 separate lots, or even sell them as one), split the cases into say 5-10 lots, same with the dials and movements. Maybe do crystals all as one of perhaps 2-5 lots.
That way with good pictures, any valuable cases or dials will be visible and people will buy the whole lot for them and it’s on them to deal with the other parts in the lot. Yes you won’t get full value for each individual part but you’ll sell everything and only have say 30 packages to post. Getting a higher percentage of value means weeks worth of sorting and itemising, posting hundreds if not thousands of packages and ultimately having all the good items picked over and being left with the dregs.
EBay, no reserve auction and good pictures is the way to go. You may even get contacted by some people who want to travel to see you and make an offer for the whole collection.
