The WG one, if it is in fact gold, may have been a Japanese market buckle. There were some odd precious metal cases made for Japanese market IWC, and I suspect for other brands as well.
Yep, came out of Japan! I haven’t tested the gold.. but don’t have any reason to think it wouldn’t be.

Nice bonus then😀 Never seen that kind of gold stamp before.
I was confused at first by the stamp too at first but it seems like that may be more standard stamping/phrasing in Japan.

A rare sight of a WG buckle. Hold it for future acquisition even tho not for the flagship

good catch
Thanks! I’ll keep it for now. Would love to find a WG Conquest or Flagship some day but not sure they even made them?

There is at least one Flagship with 30L 😎

Okay saving the buckle for that one then. Thanks in advance!

(dibs if it wasn’t clear)

These clasps also appear from time to time. They have no signature, but could be typical for gold watches from the end of the 1940s (maybe even earlier?)

This is one of some Longines buckles I have, very nice and discreet branding I must say!

Finally managed to get hold of a super super rare rose gold buckle for my Longines 7414 30CH chronograph... it’s the little things

Thought I’d put some rear shots as the others of this style do not appear to have shots of the reverse on this thread.

Hi folks,
I'd like to post my recently acquired Longines buckle for discussion. I had been looking for a 16mm buckle with the applied winged hour glass for quite some time, and then one popped up on a local classified platform. Even though the price was attractive I didn't dare go for it at first as it doesn't have any hallmarks, but apart from that it looks original. It remained unsold for a few weeks, and after doing some research, I decided to pull the trigger.

Two things gave me enough comfort that it could be an original buckle despite the missing hallmarks.

1) @omegastar posted here that he had bought a bunch of NOS vintage Longines buckles, some missing hallmarks
2) The same buckle as mine sold on eBay for £150 (well, it could have been an other fool overpaying 😂)

So what do you think, real or fake? Even if the consensus here thinks it's fake, it looks good enough to be used.

I have one that looks the same. It came with an almost unworn Ref. 6591/12.68ZS. It also came with the correct box and the old spring bars. I believe that it is not a fake. At least I hope so...

Thank you for sharing, very convincing argument that our buckles are original. Mind sharing the watch as well? 😄

My experience has led me to this, when in doubt look at the spring bar.
The forgers rarely have the right spring bar.
