Longines buckles - what's real and what's not?

I recently got these two buckles to add to one of my watches. I'm slightly curious as to their authenticity though - there are no markings on the back of the buckles; they are on the inside and are both marked as "UNROC Stainless Steel" and "Swiss Made Mod Depose Int."

Searching up UNROC on the bay shows up a few buckles, including ones made for IWC, Vacheron, Certina, Zenith and Baume & Mercier.

Would anyone have an original Longines buckle/strap attached to their watch that they can share for reference?

Hmmmm, I might know somebody who has a few of these original buckles....... let me see if he'll help us out.

EDIT: Okay, I can confirm those are correct markings for that exact buckle. 馃憤

I should add that the UNROC buckles are the ones with the ribbed / striped background behind the winged hourglass logo. The buckles with frosted / pebble grain backgrounds don't necessarily have these manufacturer's markings.

If you can't find a way to attach both to your watch I have a use for one 馃槣

I have a frosted and ribbed version. I'll sell either one for $1500 - and throw in a nice watch for good measure! 馃榿

Can you show us the buckle you speak about? It's OK if it's also on the watch you mention...馃槈

Give me a minute to break out the camera and shoot a few pics.

Hahaha! No, neither of those watches are for sale unless somebody does cough up that outrageous price. One is my 30L reference 8888 (never seen one in better condition) and the other is my last HF Admiral manual wind with a stop-at-12:00 hacking seconds hand. While I'm sure the 8888 carries a condition premium, I doubt it's DOUBLE market value for a better than average condition specimen.

Then again, maybe I'm working off that 2011 price list still.

馃槣 No, this is a different one with a more grayish blue dial and a frosted case.

I'm in on the 8888 馃槈

You and about a dozen other members. Unless @Tony C. goes mental and gives up one of his mint Flagship versions or somebody goes Ashley and pays too much, my 8888 isn't going anywhere. 馃お

Okay, here ya go - shot by the light of my LED desk lamp so excuse the quality.

@dougiedude - didn't the 18k gold 341 date-at-12 Flagship have a matching plated logo buckle just like this? I think it did have the ribbed / striped buckle. IIRC, the stainless Flagship large date 345 had the frosted logo buckle.

Okay, that's the frosted / pebble grain I was talking about. The markings were probably different (none at all sometimes) because it was a different manufacturer. These might have even been made in America.

I was pretty stupid to sell that, and you were certainly at the right place & right time. Well done to jump on that. If I ever hit the powerball, I'm paying you stupid money to buy that back. 馃槑

......and the Conquest date-at-12 I sold to Ed / Hijak. 馃槈

Dammit you guys, I already want a Conquest with that spectacular ring with triangular facets on the dial (a 9025 I think), and now you have to go and post these. 馃グ

Live vicariously through Ed (@Hijak), Nigel (@NT931), Marc (@MMMD), Pete (@Barking mad), or Anders (@Andsan) in the WRUW thread. Several more members have those now too.
